I found the variety of recipes more appealing than that of the general Great British Bakeoff cookbook that accompanies the series. There is a good mix of savory and sweet items, with less of an emphasis on baking breads and the like, and many options for baked main and side dishes. So far, I have tried a number of soups, cakes, veg dishes, and a couple of main courses. Each item has come out even better than I expected.
