Darnall and Tinsley

Sheffield South East Neighbourhood Newsletter - Darnall and Tinsley 5th February 2019 You said, we did At the start of 2018 we began a plan in relation to Main Road in Darnall. It was identified by the community, that there were issues with parking, groups of males and drug users in the area. Over the past year we have closed down a problem property using anti-social behaviour legislation, addressed the issue with groups of males, particularly outside the bookmakers and addressed the parking issues where possible in conjunction with Sheffield City Council Parking Services. As a result of this work, we have seen a 25% reduction in incidents and 400% reduction in crimes reported. Due to the above, we have now archived this plan. However, staff will continue to address issues in the area as daily business. The issues have been reduced, but they have not been eradicated. This area will continue to be looked at, by both the neighbourhood team and Sheffield City Council Parking Services. Crime and antisocial behaviour update The Darnall team have been out working with the DVLA team to remove unwanted vehicles from the community. A number of cars were removed from Stoke Street and Attercliffe due to the neglect to tax and test them. Make sure your vehicles are taxed, tested and insured to prevent this happening to you! There has been an increase this month in officers in and around Darnall. This was due to the enquiries in regard to Pamela HORVATHOVA, who has now been found. If you have any concerns about crime or ASB in the Darnall, Tinsley and Littledale areas, then please contact us on one of the methods below or come and see us at a POP in Police Station. We will also be at Tinsley forum from approximately 1000 hours until 1500 hours on Wednesday 20th February 2019. What your neighbourhood team have been doing Local South East Policing Team and Parking services have been carried out. Two fixed penalty were issued while in attendance at Athlestan Primary School. Due to this service, an illegal motorist driving a vehicle will also be charged with several driving offences. Several more POP in Police stations are soon to appear around the Darnall and Tinsley areas. These are a chance for the community to come down and see the PCSO’s and our team, whether it’s just for a chat or some concerns about the community. See our social media and websites for more details on these upcoming POP ins’. Offenders brought to justice Three suspects were jailed for a combination of 27 years for fatal Darnall collision in November 2018. A mother lost her 16-month-old baby and husband. Another 22-year-old woman lost her two parents and her 3-year-old daughter was hospitalised.
