Approximately 500-900 students from schools across Los Angeles County are expected to attend. Council District Nine rcquests that the City provide certain services and declare this function a Special Event. Approval of this request wil mean that an estimated $ 1 ,226 in fees and salary costs will be absorbed by the City. (Event Coordinator: Karl Montevirgen - 213/972-3454 and Fax No. 213/972-7650). 1 THEREFORE MOVE that the "Christian McBride Jazz Master Class" be declared a Special Event, and City departments be requested to waive all fees, costs, and requirements, except insurance. I FURTHER MOVE that pursuant to Ordinance No. 150567 relating to temporary street closures, the following streets be closed on November 8, 2006, from 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M., subject to the supervision of the Director of the Bureau of Street Services: . The east side of Los Angeles Strect bctwecn E. Washington Blvd. and 23rd Street I FURTHER MOVE that thc Department of Transportation post 'Temporary No Stopping/Parking" signs on the above street with the given times in order to accommodatc this Special Event, while at the same time notifying the surrounding community. 1 FURTHER MOVE that should unforeseen circumstances change the actual date or time of the Special Evcnt, the aforementioned departmental instructions shall continuc to apply.
