FRANCIS (NY) 60 (OT) DeMario Anderson, Quinnipiac Sr., G, 6-4, 205 lbs., Oxon Hill, MD/Oxon Hill (CCSU, Globe Institute) Anderson earned his second straight Choice Hotels NEC Player of the Week award after he led Quinnipiac to a pair of victories that catapulted the Bobcats into first place in the league standings with a 6-1 record. Anderson averaged 22.5 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 5.5 apg, 1.5 spg and shot a perfect 15-15 from the free throw line. He recorded a game-high 24 points, and added six rebounds, five assists, two blocks and a pair of steals on Thursday as Quinnipiac went on the road to defeat St. Francis (NY), 75-72. Anderson finished 10- 10 from the charity stripe, including two free throws with ten seconds remaining that provided the final three-point margin of victory. Two days later, the Oxon Hill, MD product netted a team-high 21 points, nine boards and six assists in an 84-80 victory over visiting Home Team Underlined Long Island. He sank four free throws in the final 27 seconds to ice the win. Anderson has now scored 20+ points in five straight games and stretched his double-digit scoring streak to a league-best 38 games dating back to last season. He ranks second in the Choice Hotels Choice Hotels NEC with 20.8 ppg, seventh with 6.2 rpg and has lifted his career scoring total to 1,422 points, tops among active conference competitors.
