SERIES DESCRIPTION: SERIES II: Digitized audio field recordings SUBSERIES A: Digitized audio from sound tape reel compilations 1958-1987 (Bulk, 1958-1987) This series represents digital audio recordings, reformatted to CD-R (compact discs) by Burns Library from digital audio tape (DAT) compilations. Séamus Connolly created the DAT compilations from recordings he had made on sound reel tapes. The series has been arranged in five thematic groups: Artists and Bands; Compilations by Instrument; Events; Broadcasts; and Commercial Recordings. Content descriptions have been supplied by Connolly (with the exception of Mary Ann Daly’s interview, which has notes supplied by the Library) and were transcribed to form the inventory; thematic groupings and minor edits were supplied by the Library.
