The domain is located southeast of Madrid in the province of Cuenca. It is ideally located on the Rio Mayor in Huete. Since its foundation in 1980, it has been a family business dedicated to the production of quality wines. This quality, together with the location of the domain outside the traditional appellations, has led to the award of the "Vino de Pago" label. Vino de Pago is a high quality appellation in Spain. Pago Calzadilla was one of the first domains to receive this appellation. Vinification The vineyard is located on a hill at an altitude of 1000 meters above sea level. This specific plot contains a soil that mainly consists of sand with limestone. The wine ages 12 months in French and American oak barrels of 300 and 500 liters, as well as in large casks of 3500 L.
