But first here's a rundown of the top 5 best selling songs in the UK this week. TOP 5 RUNDOWN Callum: Ronan Keating first came to fame in 1993 as the front man for the boyband Boyzone. They had a lot of success in the nineties with songs like this one, When the Going Gets Tough. MUSIC – BOYZONE – WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH Callum: Boyzone have not released any new recordings since 1999 but Ronan Keating has continued with a successful solo career. He has had 12 top 10 singles and three number one albums. His latest album, Bring you Home, was recently released and has made it into the top 5. Ronan spoke to Chris Tyrer for the BBC World Service's Top of the Pops programme about his favourite song on the new album. What's the song called and what is it about? Here's Ronan Keating. RONAN KEATING My favourite track on the album that I wrote is probably a track called Superman. It's quite an honest song but it's a song I wrote about me, and I very rarely, I don't think I've ever done it. I wrote a song about me saying I understand now that I'm not perfect. He says that it's the first time he's written such a personal song. He shows in the song that he understands that he's not perfect. Listen again. Callum: He goes on to talk about his last album, Turn it On, which he says he tripped up on. If you trip up on something it can mean that you fall over something when you are walking, but it can also mean that you make a mistake, you get something wrong. This is what he thought about his previous album. What did he learn from that experience? RONAN KEATING It's kind of coming from the last album, you know, Turn it On, which I kind of tripped up on a little and I realised that I 'm not bullet proof, and that I can make mistakes and you know that I think it's OK to trip up and get back on your feet again, so yea, it's called Superman, but the lyric is actually that I'm 'no' superman, so, I like that tune. Callum: He said that he realised that he wasn't bullet-proof. This means that even though he was successful and popular he could still make mistakes but it was Ok to make mistakes, to trip up and then 'get back on your feet again. To get back on your feet again, to recover from a bad situation and do something better. Finally he points out that although the song is called Superman, the lyric, the words in the song are actually – no superman, he's no superman, he realises he's not perfect.
