MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS OF PPT 1. Paradip Port has achieved a record cargo throughput of 71.01 MMT during 2014-15 by surpassing the earlier records and retained its 2nd position in cargo traffic among the Major Ports consecutively for 2 years. 2. Being bulk cargo handling port, 77% (84 MMTPA) of capacity has been mechanized and expected to achieve 93% by 2019, which would facilitate handling of cargo in eco-friendly manner. 3. Port has awarded following 3 projects: a. Clean Cargo & Container Terminal b. BOT Iron Ore Terminal c. 4 nos. Harbour Mobile Cranes 4. Amongst the East Coast Ports, the timely action taken by PPT has enabled enhancement of draught to the extent of 14.50 mtrs in 6 berths facilitating handling of fully laden Panamax vessels. 5. Port has achieved 100% utilization of installed capacity of 21 MMTPA of the Mechanized Coal Handling Plant during 2014-15. 6. Considering the requirement of EXIM trade, PPT has initiated proposal to mechanized three existing berths viz., EQ1, EQ2 & EQ3 to enhance capacity and handle fully laden Panamax vessels additionally. 7. Amongst the Major Ports, PPT is predominantly using Rail and Pipeline mode of cargo conveyance, which is around 90% of the overall traffic handled and thereby reducing the road traffic. 8. Port was adjudged with Golden Peacock Award for Innovation Management during 2014-15. 9. Port signed a MoU with Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI), Govt. of Odisha and Dhamra Port Company Limited for development of National Waterway (NW) No.5 for inland movement of cargo. 10. Paradip Port Trust (PPT) has signed the Concession Agreement with JSW Paradip Terminal Private Limited (JSWPTPL) on 29.05.2015 to develop New Iron Ore berth for handling of Iron Ore Exports up to 10 million tonnes per annum at Paradip Port on Built Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis. .
