“AQUARELA DO BRASIL”: ARY BARROSO DE MINAS PARA O MUNDO Rosimar Reis Souza Di Mingo RESUMO Esta dissertação tem como objetivo fazer o inventário de aspectos da vida e obra musical de Ary Barroso, significativos em sua trajetória como compositor e grande propagador da arte e da cultura nacional. O mineiro, nascido em Ubá, levou a música brasileira além-fronteiras, por suaAquarela do Brasil , eleita a música brasileira do século XX. Da memória de suas origens mineiras, inicialmente, o artista recolheu a matéria poética para as canções que, aos poucos, foram também assimilando o cotidiano de todo o povo brasileiro, sua cultura e tradição. Analisa-se, portanto, a presença de elementos dessa identidade nacionalista em diálogo com o Modernismo em Aquarela do Brasil, bem como, numa leitura do intertexto nas artes, alguns textos sugestivos de releituras dessa composição. Assim, espera- se revisitar e resgatar, de Minas para o mundo, o talento diversificado de Ary Barroso: fortuna da música popular brasileira. ABSTRACT The aim of this paper is to make the inventory of aspects of the life and musical works of Ary Barroso which are relevant in his career as a composer and great advertiser of the national arts and culture. He was born in Ubá, in the state of Minas Gerais, and took Brazilian music beyond our borders, specially because of "Aquarela do Brasil", which is considered the best Brazilian song in the twentieth century. From the memories of his early life in Minas Gerais he collected poetical material for his songs, which little by little assimilated the routine of the culture and tradition of the Brazilian people. Therefore, we analyze the presence of the elements of this national identity in dialogue with the Modernist movement in "Aquarela do Brasil", as well as some suggestive revisited interpretations os this masterpiece.
