TAMPA BAY RAYS NOTES • The Rays are 1-3 on their seven-game road trip…are now 5-12 in their last 17 games…snapped a nine-game road losing streak, which was their longest road losing streak since dropping 11 in a row from 6/20-7/18/16…improved to 11-20 when not hitting a home run this season…are now 24-13 when scoring first this season. • Are 1-5 vs. the Yankees this season, and have been outscored 32-13 through six games vs. the Yankees this season…are 11-24 in their last 35 games vs. the Yankees (since 8/12/16)…are 5-18 in their last 23 games at Yankee Stadium (since 8/12/16). • Rays batters had 11 hits today…are the most hits by a Rays team vs. the Yankees in the last 14 matchups (since 7/27/17 in the Bronx, 11 hits). • Rays batters registered 46K over the four-game series…is the highest team total in a four-game series this season and the most since a four-game set vs. Cleveland from 8/10-13/17 (49K). • RHP Wilmer Font (4.2IP, 4H, 1ER, 1BB, 5K, 1HR) made his third career start today…was his longest career outing (previous was 4.1IP on 4/2/18 at Arizona)…tied his career-high with 74 pitches (also 74 pitches on 4/2/18 at Arizona)…allowed a solo home run to his last batter faced and was removed with two out in the fifth…was the first home run he has allowed this season as a starter. • 3B Matt Duffy (3-for-4, 2RBI) drove in two runs with his two-out single in the second…also had a double in the ninth…had four of the team’s 7RBI during the four-game series in the Bronx…was his team-leading 23rd multi-hit game and second of the series. • SS Adeiny Hechavarria (3-for-4, 1R) returned from the DL today and tied his season high with three hits (also on 4/17 vs. Texas)…was his 10th multi-hit game of the season, his first since 5/14 at Kansas City…extended his hit streak to six games, and is batting .429 (9-for-21) with 2R, 1 double and 3RBI over the stretch…has hit .327 (32-for-98) with 10R, four doubles, 2 triples, 3HR and 13RBI in 27 career games vs. the Yankees…is hitting .388 (19-for-49) off lefties, compared to just .230 (20-for-87) off right-handed pitchers. —more— • LF Rob Refsnyder (0-for-3, 1K) is hitless in his last 18AB…was removed from the game for a pinch hitter in the ninth. • DH C.J.
