variety of statistical data sources that refer to words and phrases that, for the purposes of consistency, have specific definitions. Adequate Housing Standard: “[Housing] not requiring any major repairs.” https://www12.statcan.gc.ca/census-recensement/2016/ref/dict/households-menage037-eng.cfm Affordable Housing Standard: “[Housing with] shelter costs equal to less than 30% of total before-tax household income.” https://www12.statcan.gc.ca/census-recensement/2016/ref/dict/households-menage037-eng.cfm Census Family: Census families include couples with and without children, and single parents with children living in the same dwelling. Census families are restricted to these family units and cannot include other members inside or outside the family (including a grandparent, a sibling, etc.). Grandchildren living with grandparents (and without a parent) would also count as a census
