Since its founding, Greenpeace has been an active voice on environmental issues such as instituting commercial whaling bans, stopping nuclear testing, and protecting Antarctica. Greenpeace maintained an office in Las Vegas, Nevada from 1982 through 1993 as a part of the Greenpeace Pacific Southwest (GPW) region. The majority of Greenpeace's work in Southern Nevada focused on demonstrations and activism at the Nevada Test Site. - Page 3- Guide to the Greenpeace Pacific Southwest Records Source: "About Greenpeace," Greenpeace.org, accessed July 16, 2015. http://www.greenpeace.org/usa/about/. ^ Return to Table of Contents Scope and Contents Note The Greenpeace Pacific Southwest Records span 1962 to 1994.
