REVOCATION TO THE DECISION TO DISCONTINUE SPENCER NURSERY SCHOOL Notice is given in accordance with Schedule 2 to the Education and Inspections Act 2006 and Regulation 21 of the School Organisation (Establishment and Discontinuance of Schools) (England) Regulations 2013 that the London Borough of Sutton proposes to revoke the decision to discontinue Spencer Nursery School, Spencer Road, Mitcham Junction, Mitcham, Surrey, CR4 4JP URN: 102955; and not to implement the proposals. The London Borough of Sutton published proposals to discontinue Spencer Nursery School on 17 January 2019. On the same date, the London Borough of Sutton published related proposals to expand Hackbridge Primary School by an additional 36 full-time nursery places and to change the age range of the school to 2 to 11 years. The reason for the approval of the proposal was to enable joint management and governance of Hackbridge Primary School and the nursery provision at Spencer Nursery School to continue when Hackbridge Primary School becomes an academy. Hackbridge Primary School is not now expected to become an academy school before April 2020. In the light of this change in circumstances the London Borough of Sutton considers that implementation of the proposals would be inappropriate and proposes to revoke the decision to discontinue Spencer Nursery School.
