Andy Neilsen – Goalie Evaluator Andy Neilsen has been developing goaltenders in Western Canada for over 20 years. He has an extensive background in Goaltending. His playing career includes Junior A, Major Junior and playing professionally. Next Level Goaltending Development Inc. also consults for several minor hockey associations throughout the lower mainland. Andy is a CAHA certified coach and has coached with Yale for the past 3 seasons in addition to Abbotsford Minor Hockey Association for the past 10 years. He is well known in the hockey circles throughout the lower mainland for helping develop elite athletes. Throughout his coaching career he has helped athletes reach their goals ranging from AAA minor hockey, Junior, NCAA College, and the professional ranks. Brandon Underwood – Player Evaluator • Played 5 years in the WHL (Kamloops Blazers: 2008-2011, Regina Pats: 2011-2012 (Assistant Captain), Red Deer Rebels: 2012-2013 (Assistant Captain) • Played 4 years for the UBC Thunderbirds: 2013-2017 (Assistant Captain) • Strength and Conditioning / On-Ice Skills Coach for Factory Hockey Player Development (2016-2017) • Strength Coach in the gym with minor hockey and NHL players. • Head Skills Coach for Factory Hockey Junior level on-ice sessions. Brandon also has experience serving as a second Assistant Coach to Sven at UBC and as the team’s Strength and Conditioning Coach. Dan Sheel – Goalie Evaluator In 1990 Dan graduated from Algonquin College Fire Protection Engineering program and furthered his studies at Western Oregon University. He has worked in emergency services for the past twenty-seven years and is also a seasonal instructor and evaluator at the Justice Institute of British Columbia. He has been playing hockey for over 45 years, as a goalie, in both the US and Canada. He has evaluated hockey players for 30 years and was mentored by Charlie Hodge, a former NHL goalie and scout. They often sat together watching BCHL and WHL games. Dan is also in regular contact with a number of NHL goalie coaches and scouts as well as assistant coaches and coaches from the NCAA. Dan has scouted for the Langley Rivermen for the past five years and has worked hard to promote local players to the Rivermen. For the past four years he has assisted at Global Sports Camps in Langley and recommended players from the Lower Mainland and across Canada to attend Global Sports Camps in Las Vegas and Chicago. In addition, for the past four years, he was one of the head coaches along with Barry Wolf at the Lakeland camp. Through both of these camps he helped local players advance to JR B, the BCHL and the WHL and has also assisted NCAA and NHL scouts to evaluate BCHL players. Furthermore, he held the position of Vice Chair of the Parks and Recreation Commission of the Township of Langley spending six years working on the Commission and was involved with the building of a number of Township recreational sites and facilities including the Langley Event Centre. Justin Georgeson – Player Evaluator Justin’s experience as a hockey player includes BCMML- North East Chiefs: 2009-10, BCHL- Coquitlam Express: 2010-13, BCHL- Alberni Valley Bulldogs: 2013/14, and CIS-UBC Thunderbirds:2014-16 His coaching experience includes BCHL Development Camps Instructor: 2011-14, and CIS- UBC Thunderbirds Associate Coach: 2016-present Mike Butters – Player Evaluator • 9 years professional player including contracts with Detroit, Montreal, and Quebec • Former NHL Pro Scout • AHL General Manager • NHL Executive • ECHL and WCHL Coach/GM Mike served on USA Hockey Junior Council for 12 years where he was involved in several evaluation and player selection committees including several district and national team programs. • Commissioner of 2 Junior Leagues (AWHL, NPHL) • Owner/Operator/Coach/GM of 2 USA Junior A Hockey clubs over 12 years Youth Hockey Highlights: Implemented the female hockey program at a major association in WA, coaching their 16U AAA team. In 3 years has helped grow female number by 300% at this association. Created and developed a U8 hockey program that was implemented nation-wide by USA Hockey. • USA Hockey Level IV Coach • USA Coaching Education Personnel Terry Richardson – Player Evaluator Terry was a part of the original New Westminster Bruins from 1971 through 1973, as a Goaltender. He played 7 years of professional hockey, mostly in the minors, and retired in 1980. He went on to become a White Rock Fire Fighter in 1981 and retired in 2008. Terry has been an amateur scout for the Washington Capitals for 10 years and he covers the areas of the AJHL, the BCHL and the Western division of the WHL. He also is a scout for the world U-17's and the World Jr. A Challenge. .
