The building contained sixteen bays with eight flats above approached by an external walkway featuring an ornamental cast iron balustrade. The central forecourt included a large turntable for carriages. By 1924 the Grand Hotel had bought the mews to provide garage facilities close to the hotel for the convenience of its wealthy guests who arrived by motor vehicle and subsequently guest chauffeurs and the hotels own cars. 01323 412200 www.town-property.com [email protected].
