This journey of discovery explores the monasteries, villages and spectacular scenery of the Indus and Nubra Valleys by jeep and on foot. Our adventure begins in Delhi and we then take a spectacular flight over a sea of snow capped Himalayan peaks to Leh, the capital of Ladakh. Leh was formerly an important trading post on the crossroads of trade from central Asia, Tibet and India. Today it is the gateway for adventures to explore this remote corner of India. We visit Thiksey and Shey Monasteries, then travel to the outlying village of Rumbak and we stay with local families, gaining an intimate insight of Ladakhi life. We then head back to Leh before taking a bus over one of the world's highest motorable pass, Khardung La (5359m), and descend on the dramatic Nubra Valley, where we visit Diskit and Hunder Monasteries and have the option of a camel ride in the sand dunes of this mountain wilderness… DAY 01: SINGAPORE - DELHI Arrive Delhi, You will be meeting & Greet by tour guide representative at the Delhi International airport and you would be transferred to your hotel where you will proceed for check-in. DAY 02: DELHI – SRINAGAR (BY FLIGHT) (B/L/D) After Breakfast, you will be transfer to Airport and catch 1 hour Flight to Srinagar, you would be transferred to your Luxury Houseboat where you will proceed for check-in. After Lunch you will After noon visit the famous Mughal Gardens of Nishat (Garden of pleasure) overlooking the crystal clear Emerald green waters of the Dal lake then to Shalimar (Garden of Love) built by Mughal Emperors During Spring until Autumn these gardens are full of flowers. DAY 03: GULMARG EXCURSION (52 KMS) (B/L/D) Drive to Gulmar (Meadow of Gold) – It was discovered in the 19th century. It is exquisitely situated in a pine surrounded basin of the Pir Panjal range at an altitude of 2,730 meters above sea level and one of the most famous tourist destinations of Kashmir. One can enjoy Gondola ride or (Optional - Horse ride at Gulmarg) for a fun-filled ride of a most unusual kind, Gulmarg’s newly constructed gondola lift from high above Gulmarg, through pine-clad slopes is exhilarating. From Gulmarg a pony track leads upwards to Khilanmarg, Kangdori & seven springs, a couple of hours by pony longer on foot. Evening Enjoy Shikara cruise on Dal Lake in Shikaras (local Gondola) visiting the Floating garden, Lotus gardens (summers), back waters of the lake, cruise will go through canals. It’s one of the most soothing & relaxing aspects of a holiday in Kashmir, DAY 04: SRINAGAR – KARGIL (VIA SONMARG) (220 KMS) (B/L/D) Post breakfast we drive to Leh via Sonmarg, One of the most beautiful drive from Srinagar. Sonamarg) – It is a place of enthralling beauty, lies in Sindh Valley, streamed with flowers, surrounded by mountains and perched at an altitude of 2690 m above sea level. It has as its backdrop, snowy mountains against a clear sky. It is a quiet alpine retreat surrounded with sycamore, silver birch, fir and pine trees and the last halt on the Kashmir side for the drive from Srinagar to Leh. It is also the base for some interesting treks to the high altitude of Himalayan Lakes. In Sonmarg one can take a pony ride (Optional Horse Ride) to Thajiwas Glacier where snow remains round the year. DAY 05: KARGIL - ALCHI (VIA LAMAYURU) (150 KMS) (B/L/D) Post breakfast we drive to Uleytokpo enroute visiting Lamayuru, Belongs to Dripung Kagyu (Red Hat) like Phyang. The oldest structure in Lamayuru is the Singey Lhakhang built by the founder of Alchi Lotsava Rinchen bzangpo in 11th century. After visiting Lamayuru we proceed further to Uleytokpo enrote visiting Ridzong Gompa, known as the paradise for Meditation. Upon arrival in Alchi. We check in at our hotel for overnight Stay. DAY 06: ALCHI – LEH (VISITING MONASTERIES) (60 KMS) (B/L/D) Post breakfast we check out from the Camp & Visit Alchi , Ladakh's most loved monastery and drive to Leh enroute visiting Basgo is certainly the most impressive of Ladakhi citadels despite its ruined state, Likir gompa situated atop a windy cliff top overlooking the beautiful village of Likir & Phyang Gompa , located just 6 kms before Leh. check in at hotel In Leh. DAY 07: LEH – NUBRA (B/L/D) After early breakfast we drive to NUBRA VALLEY leads through KHARDUNG-LA-PASS (the highest motorable road in the world) at 18,390 ft, around 39kms from Leh. Nubra Valley is popularly known as Ldorma or the valley of flowers. It is situated to the North of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. Arrive Sumur or Hunder by afternoon and rest of the day at leisure to explore beautiful village of Sumur & Hunder with a Visit to Diskit Monastery. Overnight stay at Camp DAY 08: NUBRA - LEH (B/L/D) After your breakfast at the camp, visit the SAND DUNES to enjoy a camel safari, Later we drive to Leh by same route over Khardung La. Afternoon rest and relax or take a walk to the local market. Post lunch we take a sightseeing tour visiting Sankar Gompa , located at a distance of approximately 3 km from the town of Leh, Leh Palace is one of the most captivating architectural ruins that attract the attention of the tourists almost immediately with its majestic setting at the edge of the Namgyal hill and overlooking the town and at once looks like a reminiscent of Lhasa's Potala Palace. DAY 09: LEH – PANGONG LAKE (B/L/D) After early breakfast we leave for Pangong Lake through Changla pass 5486 Mtrs. Pangong Lake , situated at 14,000 feet (4,267 m). A long narrow basin of inland drainage, hardly six to seven kilometer at its widest point and over 130km long, it is bisected by the international border between India and China. Enjoy the landscape in the back drop of the Lake. One rarely feels so close to nature and environment and the scenery is unforgettable.Overnight stay at Camp Watermark on the shore of Lake. DAY 10: PANGONG LAKE – LEH (B/L/D) Morning at leisure to explore the beauty of lake and later we drive back to leh enroute visiting Hemis Gompa , the largest monastic foundation of Drukpa Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism, Thiksey an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village, Shey Palace , The ancient capital of Ladakh & Stok Palace Museum. Drive further to Leh DAY 11: LEH – DELHI – SINGAPORE (BY FLIGHT) (B/L/D) Early Breakfast transfer to Airport to catch the flight to New Delhi, Arrive Delhi & Continue to Explore New Delhi Sightseeing of Qutub Minar, Humayun's tomb, Lotus Temple, India Gate Parliament House & President House after sightseeing check out from Hotel and Transfer to Airport for your pleasant flight back Singapore. .
