Prof. Dr. Serdar SALMAN Professor Dr. Serdar SALMAN He was born in 1962 in Istanbul. He started his primary education in Ankara, Middle School in Ankara and Hopa, High School in Hopa and completed in 1979 Cumhuriyet High School in Denizli. He studied at Ege University in 1979-1980. He graduated from the Metallurgical Engineering Department of Sakarya Engineering Faculty in Istanbul Technical University in 1984, starting in 1980. In 1985, he became a research assistant at the Department of Metal Education, Faculty of Technical Education, Marmara University. Yıldız University, Institute of Science, Metallurgical Engineering Department, “Welding Process Residual Stresses and Measurement” on his master's thesis. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Topuz in 1987 and received the title of Metallurgical Engineer. He completed his military service between 1987-1988 with the rank of Artillery Ensign. In 1991, YOK-World Bank II. He has been in England (Huddersfield University) within the scope of Industrial Education Project. In 1992, he became an instructor at Marmara University, Faculty of Technical Education. In 1995, Yildiz Technical University, Institute of Science and Technology, Department of Metallurgical Engineering. Dr. He completed his thesis titled ’Properties of Al 2O3-13wtTiO 2 and Cr 2O3-5wt% SiO 2-3wt% TiO 2 Ceramic Coated Materials by Plasma Spraying Technique and Flame Spraying Technique dü which was carried out under the consultancy of Zeki Çizmecio ğlu. In 1995, he was appointed as an assistant professor at the Department of Materials Education, MÜTEF Metal Education Department. He became Associate Professor in 1997 and Professor in 2003 in the same department. He has been a part-time lecturer at Dumlupınar University, Faculty of Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Department and Science Mechanical Engineering Department between 1997-1998. Between 1999 and 2011, he worked as Marmara University TUAR Director, between 2003-2006 as Vice Dean and Head of Metal Education Department at Marmara University Technical Education Faculty. In 2007, he was a Visiting Professor at Georgia Tech Material Science Department, USA for 1 year. Between 2012-2015, he was the Founding Dean of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. After serving as the Head of the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department of the Faculty of Technology at Marmara University from 2016 to 2017, he was appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of the National Defense University on 06.12.2017. He has over 200 International and National articles and papers in over 60 indexed journals. Dr. Serdar SALMAN was the director of 5 research projects. He is currently the director of 2 TUBITAK projects. Presentation at International Congresses, to serve as Chairman of the Organizing Committee and Session Chair, USA, South Korea, China, Mexico, Pakistan, Greece, Bulgaria, Cuba, Spain, Croatia, Macedonia, South Africa, Netherlands, Germany, Serbia, Ukraine, Morocco and It has been found in countries such as England. He has two books: Fundamentals of Materials Science and Metallography. He has supervised 8 PhD and 33 MS theses. He is currently the advisor of 3 PhD and 1 Master thesis. In 2017, he started to work as the Vice Rector at the National Defense University. He speaks English. Prof. Dr. Serdar SALMAN is married and has two children. .
