The conference is being run in conjunction with the Australian Museum’s exhibition “Alexander the Great: 2000 Years of Treasure”. A unique opportunity to hear lectures from international speakers, including curators from the State Hermitage Museum, St Petersburg. The speakers will provide first- hand knowledge of art, history and culture from the time of Alexander the Great through to the present. Alexander’s military conquests extended Hellenic Culture as far to the east as modern day Afghanistan. Speakers will also discuss the influence of Hellenistic culture on society from antiquity up to the present.
