According to Pye (1965), the Jackpot property was named for the size of the area, about 1,000 ft (=304.8 m) across, throughout which outcrops of lithium-bearing pegmatite are numerous and closely spaced. The spodumene-bearing pegmatites on the Jackpot property are hosted by quartz- mica schist. The pegmatites are zoned with an occasional aplite border zone, and common quartz-feldspar-mica outer zone andspodumene-bearing pegmatite inner zone. The Jackpot consists of 3 contiguous claims, 4 claim units and a total of 64 ha. The claims are jointly owned by Jim Forbes, John Rapski and Steve Forbes. In October 2009, Jim Forbes, John Rapski, Steve Forbes and Golden Dory entered into an option agreement whereby Golden Dory gets a 100% interest in the property by paying the three prospectors a total of $100,000 cash and issuing 400,000 shares. The three prospectors retain a 2% NSR. 2.0 Location The Jackpot is located about 1 km southeast of Georgia Lake shore, approximately 50 km northeast of the town of Nipigon by road and 140 km northeast of Thunder Bay (Figure 1). The Jackpot is located within Thunder Bay Mining Division, Barbara Lake area in NTS sheet 42E05SW. The approximate center of Golden Dory’s claims is UTM 432551 E, 5461493 N, Zone 16, NAD83 and longitude/latitude 87º55’40”W and 49º18’9”N. 3.0 Access The Jackpot can be accessed by helicopter from Thunder Bay to the property a distance of approximately 140 km northeast of the city. Under ideal dry conditions an alternate means of access is to drive 40 km north of the town of Nipigon on TransCanada Highway #11, then drive 10 km east on a dirt road towards Georgia Lake. The southwest corner of claim 4245836 is 20 m northeast of the dirt road. 4.0 Claim Description and Ownership The Jackpot consists of 3 contiguous claims, 4 claim units and a total of 64 ha (Table 1) and Figure 2 The claims are jointly owned by Jim Forbes, John Rapski and Steve Forbes (see Table 1 for details of ownership. The boundaries of the claims were located by ground staking. The surface rights are owned by the Crown. There are no historic mine workings, tailings or environmental liabilities on the property. The parts of the area in which metasediments are exposed are, for the most part, of low relief. In contrast, the parts underlain by granitic rocks are rugged, with rounded hills rising up to about 150 feet above the general level. Most conspicuous, however, are high, imposing vertical or near-vertical cliffs at the boundaries of large exposed sheet-like masses of diabase.” “Rock exposures in the area are abundant, and between the outcrops there is a thin mantle of glacial deposits. These glacial deposits consist mainly of stratified accumulations of unconsolidated sand and gravel. Some of them represent a ground moraine sorted by the action of glacial meltwaters; others form prominent terraces along the shores of Lake Nipigon and in the valley occupied by Keemle and Wanogu Lakes, and are abandoned beach deposits. Esker ridges also are present but are not high and do not extend for any great distances.” The topography on Golden Dory’s current claims is moderate. The minimum elevation is 436 m near the lake in claim 4245840 which is underlain by metasediments. The maximum elevation is 489 m on top of the hill on the east side of claim 4245837 which is underlain by Nipigon diabase. Thus the range in elevation is 53 m (Selway, 2010). 6.0 Prospecting Traverses covered two claims 4245837 and 4245840 of the 3 claim group. Prospecting was carried out to locate any historic workings and assess the potential of surrounding rock to host significant lithium and tantalum mineralization (Appendix 1). During the traverses overburden cover, topography and vegetation were noted. Outcrops were described and samples were taken for lab analysis of whole rock oxides, lithium, tantalum, rare earth elements and other associated trace elements (Appendix 2 and 3). Samples were subseqently plotted on a map at 1:2,500 scale (Map 1). Sample descriptions, vegetation, overburden, traverses and outcrops were plotted on a map at 1:1,000 scale (Map 2). Chondrite normalized rare earth element plots were provided by Actlabs (Appendix 4). Rare earth elements were converted to percentage oxide and totaled (TREO) and listed in Appendix 5.
