ICCI QLD NEWSLETTER In this issue… 5th May 2016 Message from the President Message from the President, Comm. Hon. Santo Santoro Dear members, friends and supporters of ICCI (Qld), Upcoming ICCI Qld. The Chamber has experienced a very busy time since you received our last newsletter. Events A few weeks ago, over 120 people enjoyed listening to His Grace The Most Reverend Introducing the new Archbishop Mark Coleridge at the Chamber’s most recent Business Networking Lunch. ICCI Qld Board His Grace The Most Reverend regaled lunch guests with antidotes of the rich experience he gained during his time in Rome where he studied Scripture at the Pontifical Biblical Our Sponsors – Mapei Institute. His duties included speechwriting for the Pope and assisting the Pontiff in discharging many of his other responsibilities. New ICCI Qld. Member His Grace also outlined his views in relation to a number of current issues confronting the Profile – Italian Marina modern Catholic Church. Noosa The Chamber also recently held its Annual General Meeting and a new board of ICCI (Qld) Ospitalitá Italiana was elected at the AGM. A brief introduction to all board members is contained within this Project newsletter. Needless to say, I am proud to be the President of a board whose membership includes individuals who are high achievers and influential within their respective ICCI Qld. 2016 Trade industries. Mission to Italy I am particularly grateful that Cav. Adj. Professor Phillip Di Bella has agreed to stay on and continue to serve as Vice-President of the Chamber and equally grateful that Life Member, Adversing Noe Vicca, has agreed to “return to the fold” and serve again as Treasurer of the Chamber. Opportunies I wish to record my thanks to outgoing board members, Tony Micalizzi and Mayor Cr. Paul Pisasale. Needless to say, I am also very grateful to the other board members who have Trade Fairs in Italy agreed to continue to serve the Chamber in an exemplary fashion. Upcoming events in Attached please find details of our next two networking functions, including the Annual Brisbane Gala Dinner to be held at Gambaro’s on Saturday 18th June and the Aperitivo Italiano at th the much awarded Mariosarti Restaurant on Monday 16 May. Acknowledgment of I commend the above functions to all members, friends and supporters of the Chamber and sponsors and ask for your support of the functions through your attendance. I would also be most supporters grateful if you were able to encourage the attendance of your family, business associates and friends. Within this newsletter, also please find a very interesting profile of Mapei, our latest major sponsor. We thank Mapei – as we thank all of our other major sponsors – for the tremendous support of the Chamber. And, of course, please give some further thought to the proposed ICCI (Qld) Trade Mission th st to Italy scheduled for the 17 – 21 October 2016. I wish to stress here that the Trade Mission will be tailored to suit the specific interests and requirements of individuals and companies who sign up to attend the Mission. The itinerary and specific appointments of the Trade Mission will be determined by the participants’ interests and requirements. I hope you enjoy reading the contents of this newsletter. Santo Santoro - President Commendatore the Honourable Santo Santoro is recognised as a leading source of counsel on Australian and international politics, policy and regulatory affairs. In 1998 he founded AFA Insurance Brokers, now one of the largest privately owned commercial insurance broking firms and part of the publicly listed steadfast ltd group. He spends a lot of his time travelling across the country overseeing his business interests as well as in Indonesia where he has interests in a 'health and wellbeing retreat' as well as focusing his energy on working with helping people Paolo Betti through his health and wealth programs.
