Reporting Educational Settings for Children Ages 3-5 (Use with the Decision Tree for Early Childhood Environments) Child does attend a regular early childhood program CECAS Code Description RECP 10 HRS OR The child is receiving the majority of hours of special education and related MORE services in the Regular Early Childhood Program (and the child attends a Regular (3-5) Early Childhood Program at least 10 hours per week). This includes early childhood, child care, or kindergarten programs. RECP 10 HRS OR The chil d is receiving the majority of hours of special education and related MORE – OTHER services in some other location such as a service provider location or special LOCATION (3-5) education classroom (and the child attends a Regular Early Childhood Program at least 10 hours per week). This includes early childhood, child care, or kindergarten programs. RECP LESS THAN The child is receiving the majority of hours of special education and related 10 HOURS (3-5) services in the Regular Early Childhood Program (and the child attends a Regular Early Childhood Program less than 10 hours per week). This includes early childhood, child care, or kindergarten programs. RECP LESS THAN The child is receiving the majority of hours of special education and related 10 HRS – OTHER services in some other location such as a service provider location or special LOCATION (3-5) education classroom (and the child attends a Regular Early Childhood Program less than 10 hours per week). This includes early childhood, child care, or kindergarten programs. Child does not attend a regular early childhood program SEP Separate Class Special education classrooms in: Regular school buildings , t railers or portable (Age 3-5) outside regular school buildings, child care facilities, hospitals facilities on an out- patient basis, other community based settings SEP Separate Separate schools. Preschool or kindergarten classes housed within separate School (Age 3-5) schools that contain school aged separate classes. Please note that Developmental Day Programs should not be counted as a Separate School unless it is housed within a Separate School that also serves school aged children. SEP Residential Residential facilities. Children who receive education programs in publicly or Facility (Age 3-5) privately operated residential schools or residential medical facilities on an inpatient basis Child does not attend a regular early childhood program or special education program Home - Not RECP Home. Children who receive special education and related services in the principal or SEP (Age 3-5) residence of the child’s family or caregivers, and who do not attend an early childhood program nor a special education program. Include children who received services both at home and in a service provider location. Service Provider Service Provider Location. Children who receive all of their special education and Loc. - Not RECP or related services from a service provider, and who did not attend an early childhood SEP (Age 3-5) program or a special education program. For example, speech therapy provided in: private clinicians’ offices, clinicians’ offices located in school buildings, hospital facilities on an outpatient basis, and libraries and other public locations Do not include children who also receive special education at home. Children who received special education both at home and in a service provider location should be reported in the Home setting.
