Parables of the Lost Jesus told many parables during his ministry on earth. He told these parables to help his followers then and us today understand things that are unfamiliar. In simple, a parable is an earthly story with a heavenly meaning. We’re going to look at three parables that are recorded in Luke 15 which were all about lost things or people. Let’s go through each one and figure out what Jesus is trying to teach us. Parable of the Lost Sheep - Luke 15:4-7 How many sheep did the shepherd have? What did the shepherd do when he loses one of his sheep? What does he do when he finds his lost sheep? What emotions does he have? How does this parable relate to heaven? Parable of the Lost Coin - Luke 15:8-10 How many coins did the woman have? What three things does she do when she loses one coin? What does she do when she finds her lost coin?
