There were no questions arising from the report. Registration Administrators Report – Read by TB Attached Question asked; Is the Registration Administrator paid? – The answer is yes, as previously; and in alignment with all EIHA registration Administrators. (This payment is made by the EIHA, not the Rec. Section) Discipline Report - TW There were 54 incidents incurring a Match Penalty this year, which is down on last year as a whole. This gave rise to162 games in suspensions - Which is also down 20 on last year There were also 3 Time based Suspensions, where incidents were more serious; inc. an assault on an Official Match Penalties for Abuse of Officials have halved on last year, which is excellent news Fighting penalties have dropped, but not as much as I’d like to see. Please transfer the message to your players that Fighting has no place in Rec. Hockey and suspensions will increase in an effort to curb this behavior. I understand that tempers can flair and I’m not looking at a zero for this, but this figure needs to be reduced over all to benefit all that play the Game There is a new system for reports put in place by Ash. Official’s reports now come direct to TW not via Ash, this has improved the speed of communication of the Reports to us and therefore the Suspensions generally get sent out in a more timely manner to the Team Contacts A question was asked how teams know if their opposition play a suspended player. TB spoke and confirmed that anyone currently suspended will NOT show on roster and suggested you can print off home and away rosters on the day of the game should you wish to. Appeals: Any Suspension that is Time Based or over 3 Games can be appealed. The Rec. Section use the EIHA procedure for this, as Detailed in our Handbook; and full details of the Procedure are on the EIHA site. Any queries about a suspension should in the first instance go by email to TW, but only limited information can be given without Appeal Election of Officers - TB The Chairman told the meeting that we are the only Section who elects officers. The EIHA appoint Committee members for all other sections. Re election of John Freeman – passed unanimously that John serves for another three years. Insurance Update - TB The Chairman explained that our insurance is for basic cover only i.e. for emergency dental repairs. After discussions with the EIHA, we propose to use their insurance company/policy; this will incur no increase, other than inflation, to Rec. Players The Chairman mentioned a few comparisons; increased Weekly incapacity payment, increased Dental cover etc. Full details can be found on the EIHA website. The main difference is there is no person to person liability cover with the new policy, but the Chairman pointed out this could be covered by house insurance if you have legal cover included. It was nominated by Blackburn Buccaneers, seconded by Nationwide Knights; and passed unanimously that we use the new EIHA insurance policy. Cost of registrations for 2011/2012 - TB The cost of the 2011/12 season player registration will be; £50 per first team player (or £45 per first team player if a representative of the team is present at the 2011 AGM). Coaches will continue to receive a free registration [unless used for another club] A Second and or Third team registration will be £35. Women players (as per 1st Team Reg. as above) £50 (or £45 per first team player if a representative of the team is present at the 2011 AGM). Plans for 2011/12 Season - TB What we propose doing next season: An Over 35’s Tournament in May June – Tri-services Tournament July – 2012 Sheffield Recfest Aug – 2012 Non Checking Recfest @ Swindon. All dates and final plans will be on website by 1 January 2012. Applications details will be published later in the year via the site There are over 200 officials to cover approx 90 games per week Allan advised that 70% + of officials are under 18 We are proposing to hold 3 or 4 level 1 linesmen courses around the country free of charge and would like each rink to put forward two people to attend one of these courses. – Full details of requirements and further details will be available via the Web Site when finalized Allan – 1 day course involves a min of 6 hours in classroom and 2 hours on ice, including a scrimmage game. Coaches course: One day Rec. course could not be developed or supported by the Coach Programme. However a subsidy for person per team to attend a Coaches course is available. The player (who will be CRB checked) would need to pay the normal EIHA fee (currently £115) to attend course. Once the course has been attended and the applicant passed, registration as a Coach is then required. At this point they are to contact TW before proceeding, Query re playing U18’s - The minimum criteria is a level 1 and 2 on the bench of BOTH teams taking part and access to a Child Protection Officer. Full details available via the EIHA Website Referees Draw - TB The Chairman announced a draw. The number of ticket corresponds to a game played over the season. The officials of that game will receive the £500 shared between them. Game nos are 4956, 5227 and 4840. (Three were drawn out in case the game was cancelled or a Scottish game) Every official will receive a letter saying thank you for your support this year. The draw was made and Stephan Hogarth won based on the Game reference number drawn Team Feedback based on online survey - TW TW thanked all the teams and contacts that took part for their time and was very pleased with the number of responses TW commented on the results of the recent Online Survey saying that as a whole it was very positive, showing that in most areas we were there or thereabouts on the mark with the requirements of the section. Some minor points were outlined as requiring attention and these will be addressed, where possible, in the coming months. Mainly though, although the website looks a little dated it is still functioning and providing us with what we need and the replacement Player Registration Administrator has proved a big success. There were some comments that would be followed up for further information during the Season by TW. An example of some of the comments and the figures were displayed in the lobby to the meeting room and this will be put on the Website for all to view There were no questions Travel Insurance and Visiting teams or Traveling EIHA Teams - TW TW went through the EIHA Approval Procedure for teams travelling to Europe and North America and for inviting teams to the UK, this procedure and all the forms are be available on the main EIHA Website Basic Procedure is attached Closing Remarks Updated Officials Costs for 2011/12 - TB New charges for Officials were outlined and a suggestion made that costs for the ‘worst’ case should be used when budgeting for total costs of games. These fees are available on Rec. Website. The Chairman expressed thanks from the Executive to Whitley Bay and Bradford Cannibals for paying their timekeepers for running games.
