Being a passionate lover of literature and language studies, Ms. Afeefa, completed her MA in English and Comparative Literature from Pondicherry Central University in the year 2017. After acquiring UGC NET the same year, she went on to pursue a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism from one of the most prestigious J-Schools in India, the Asian College of Journalism, Chennai. After the completion of her course, she worked as a Trainee Broadcast Journalist in MediaOne TV, Kozhikode. After a short career in TV Journalism she moved on to be a Multimedia Producer in a new journalistic venture named Asiaville headed by Sasikumar, founder of Asianet and Chairman of ACJ, Chennai. She wrote and produced contents mainly on International Affairs, Sports and Films such as reviews and new updates regarding the same. After working as a journalist for a year, she started her teaching career in MES Arts and Science College, Perinthalmanna. She has attended various seminars during and after her post graduation and she has presented a paper in an International seminar on New Feminist Writings held at Pondicherry University. Her dissertation during her Post Graduation covers the Feministic Appraisal in Iranian movies after the Islamic revolution and her dissertation for Post Graduate Diploma is on the decade long war situation in Afghanistan and the plight of Afghanis in light of their circumstances. The nuances and intricacies of English language and literature as well as journalism are her passionate subjects to pursue and teaching English has rekindled her zest to discover new and interesting areas in the same. She lives by the motto: "Education is the kindling of the flame, not the filling of a vessel," a famous saying by Socrates, the philosopher. .
