Property of Lusias Lagoon Instructions.doc Copyright 2009 Detailed Instruction to Lusias Lagoon Chalets Samoa is made up of 4 Islands. The largest by way of land mass is Savaii, then Upolu. The two smaller islands are situated between Savaii and Upolu, these are called Monono and Apolima. Upolu Island is where Apia our capital city is located, and it is also where our Faleolo International Airport is located where you will be flying into Samoa. As you depart Faleolo Airport, turn right onto the main road. If you take a taxi just say you want to go to the wharf to go to Savaii. It’s approximately a 10 minute drive, $15 tala taxi fare. Walk up to the ticket window at Mulifanua Wharf and purchase your tickets for Savaii (the only destination for the wharf). Tickets are $12 tala for adults and $6 tala for children. Boats normally run every two hours departing at 6am,8,10,12,2,and 4pm, although sometimes boats are down for maintenance so mid-day travel may be less reliable on certain days. While you wait for the ferry be sure to stop in the Savaii Tourism Office opposite the main terminal of the wharf. Simply walk out of the terminal towards the shops and you should see it on your right. As you are leaving from Mulifanua Wharf, Manono being the larger of the two islands is visible straight away, but still get your cameras ready because Apolima will also be on your left, halfway into your crossing. After the 1.5 hour ferry ride you will arrive at Salelologa Wharf on Savaii Island. On the enlarged map we are the Bright Blue Star to the left of Salelologa Wharf, Savaii Island. Lusias sign is opposite (towards left), of the Salelologa Terminal. Your view might be blocked by our buses or taxis at first. And as soon as you are out of the Salelologa Wharf Terminal, turn left, follow the coastline main road, and continue walking for up to 10 minutes, look for Lusias sign on your left. Or you may choose to take a taxi. It takes only 2 minutes and costs just $3 Samoan Tala. If you wish, mention on your booking form that you would like to get picked up by Lusia’s Lagoon Chalets, kind of a V.I.P treatment you might say! For the young enthusiasts, walking is a way of witnessing at first glance the beauty of our fauna and flora, say Talofa (Hello) to any of us walking the opposite direction, we like that, we consider it a sign of your friendliness and respect. If still confused please don’t hesitate to email us at: [email protected] , 685-51487 Fa’afetai (thank you) in advance. Lusia and the Team .
