One of only six Mid-American Conference head coaches since the advent of the Bowl Championship Series to have won four or more games against teams from automatic qualifying conferences. • Led the Cardinals to a 7-1 MAC record in 2013 -- only the fifth 7-1 or better MAC record since Ball State joined the league in 1975. • Led Ball State to a 10-3 overall record in 2013, which marks only the third time in the Cardinals' 89 years of football with 10 or more wins in a single season. • Led the Cardinals to a school record 501 points in 2013. • Led Ball State to a 9-4 overall record and a 6-2 Mid-American Conference mark in his second season in 2012. • Guided Ball State to the 2012 Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl St. Petersburg in only his second season at the helm. The bowl appearance marked the eighth in Ball State history. • The nine wins tied for the third most in a single season in school history, while the six MAC wins marked the second highest total since 1996. • 2011-12 APR was 966 -- the highest in Ball State history and tied for first in the Mid-American Conference among football programs. • Coached Cardinals to back-to-back wins over teams from what were previously Bowl Championship Subdivision automatic qualifying conferences -- Indiana (Big Ten), 41-39, and South Florida (Big East), 31-27, in 2012. • Coached Briggs Orsbon, who was named to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-America Team. Also has coached 18 Ball State student-athletes who have received Academic All-MAC honors in the last four seasons, including eight first-team selections. • Led Ball State to back-to-back wins over Indiana -- 2011 (27-20 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.) and 2012 (41-39 at Bloomington, Ind.) • Coached the Cardinals to two wins over BCS AQ Conferences in the same year for the first time in school history in 2012. • Led Ball State to a 34-27 win over nationally ranked Toledo in 2012, which marked the Cardinals' first win over a nationally ranked opponent since 2001.
