With the eccentric style of the story brought by the notable filmmakers, the romance between the two main characters and the serious action, “The Ancient Dogoo Girl” called word-of-mouth and won the high television rating. DIRECTOR / ORIGINAL STORY Born on June 28, 1969. Noboru Iguchi’s roles include director, actor, writer and producer. As a director, he is known for his unique “Iguchi Taste,” and is one of the pioneers of the Japanese gore films such as “The Machine Girls” and “Robo Geisha.” His film “The Larva to Love” (2003) has been selected in the top 10 by the Japanese Professional Movie Awards. MOLDING / CHARACTER DESIGN / PILOT FILM DIRECTOR Born on April 1, 1967. Nishimura is a director, a special effects/makeup artist, and a screenwriter who has worked predominantly in the horror genre. He has been credited for establishing a new type of visual film presentation, the “gore effect.” He has directed “Tokyo Gore Police,” and his work as a special effect supervisor includes “ Robo Geisha” and “The Machine Girl.” CAST Erika Yazawa Masataka Kubota STORY Makoto is a socially withdrawn high school boy who stays home all day, playing games in his room. One day, when his father drags him to the archaeological site, he finds a strange breastplate buried in the woods by chance. When he places his palm on the breast plate, its pattern gets burned into his palm and awakens an ancient girl named Dogu-chan, a hyperactive monster hunter from 10,000 years ago. Because he had awaked her, Makoto is now bound strongly to Dogu-chan. As she adapts to the modern day life, she forces Makoto to go with her when she fight the monsters in magic armor with her dogoo (clay dall) assistant Dokigoro, slowly prying Makoto out of his shell whether he likes it or not. At the same time, Dogu-chan starts to have a feeling towards Makoto. However, she soon realizes that her time is running out… .
