2013 AMERICA’S 9/11 RIDE FRIDAY, AUGUST 16 Start: Highland HD, Somerset, Pennsylvania DEPARTS 7:15am • Right turn out of Highland HD onto Center Street • Left turn onto Stoystown Road (Rt 281 North) • Right turn onto Pompey Hill Road • Right turn onto Lambertsville Road • Left turn onto Skyline Drive • Right onto Buckstown Road • Left onto Lambertsville Road • Left onto Main Street • Right on Bridge Street • Left on Main Street • Main Street turns into Cornerstone Road • Take left fork to stay on Cornerstone Road • Right onto Huckleberry Hwy (Rt 160) • Route 160 become Route 47 crossing into MD • Left onto Route 36 • Route 36 turns into Route 40 which turns into Mechanic Street • Follow Mechanic Street into downtown Cumberland • Turn Left onto Frederick Street (beside the Police/Fire Department). • Continue on Frederick St. to Naves Cross Road and turn right (beside Sheets) • Continue – following signs to 68 East • Merge onto I-68 East • Take Exit 50 and turn left onto Lake Shore Dr. (ROCKY GAP STATE PARK) Stop: Rocky Gap State Park, Cumberland, Maryland • Depart the park • Turn left onto I-68 East – travel about 30miles • Merge onto I-70 East • Exit 28 – at bottom of ramp turn left onto 632 (Downsville Pike) • Follow through first light and then bear right • Turn right on West Oak Ridge Dr. • Lunch stop is on the right. – Follow directions. • FUEL AT SHEETS (stright ahead at the light) and EXXON (inside the Mall area) Stop: Hagerstown Prime Outlets, Hagerstown, Maryland (LUNCH) 2013 AMERICA’S 9/11 RIDE FRIDAY, AUGUST 16 FROM PRIME OUTLET TO THE PENTAGON • Depart the Prime Outlets • Turn right out of Prime Outlets onto Sharpsburg Pike south (Rt 65) • Turn right onto ramp for I-70 East toward Frederick, MD • Exit 52A onto US-15 S / US-340 W toward Charlestown, WV • Bear LEFT exit onto US-15 S toward Leesburg, VA • Stay straight onto US-15 BUSINESS through historic downtown Leesburg • Turn left onto US-15 BYP N / VA-7 E towards Alexandria, VA • Merge onto VA-267 E (Dulles Greenway) toward Dulles Airport / Washington, DC • After passing Dulles Airport, we will cut left onto the Airport Express Road (still 267) • Merge onto I-66 E towards Washington, DC • Exit 75 onto VA-110 S towards Pentagon / Alexandria • Right Exit for I-395 N / US-1 N toward Washington, DC • Bear left onto ramp for Pentagon City – this puts you on Army Navy Drive • First left onto S. Eads Street • First left on 11th Street S • Follow direction into DoubleTree Hotel parking END: DoubleTree Hotel, Arlington, Virginia 2013 AMERICA’S 9/11 RIDE SATURDAY, AUGUST 17 START: DoubleTree Hotel, Arlington, Virginia • Right out of DoubleTree Hotel onto Army Navy Drive • Left onto 12th Street South • Pass under Route 1 and turn left on Old Jeff Davis Highway (rough road) • Bear left at end of road onto Boundary Channel Drive (Do NOT go straight or make hard left turn – you will wind up on I-395) • Left into Pentagon North Parking STAGING: PENTAGON NORTH PARKING – RIDE DEPARTS 7:15am • Right out of Pentagon North Parking onto Boundary Channel Drive • At end of Boundary Channel Drive, turn right onto I-395 N towards Washington, DC • I-395 N into DC • Stay to left to take I-295 / Southeast Freeway toward Pennsylvania Avenue • Right exit & right turn onto Pennsylvania Avenue • Left onto DC-295 N • Stay left to merge onto Baltimore Washington Parkway toward Baltimore ***(depends on MTA route for next two lines) o Right exit onto I-895 N toward Baltimore Harbor Tunnel Thru-Way/ New York o Travel through Harbor Tunnel • Merge onto I-95 N toward New York • LEFT exit into Chesepeke House Rest Area (mile marker 98) Stop: Chesepeke House Rest Area (fuel stop for all bikes) • Exit Chesepeke House onto I-95 N toward Philadelphia / New York • Right exit onto I-295 N toward New Jersey Turnpike / Delaware Memorial Bridge / NY • Cross Delaware Memorial Bridge into New Jersey • Follow signs for I-295 N (right lanes for US-130 N / Penns Grove, then left exit for 295) • Stay on I-295 N for approximately 28 miles • Take exit 28 for NJ-168 toward Bellmawr/Runnemede/Mt Ephraim • Keep left at the fork, follow signs for NJ-168 • Fuel before entering Barbs HD gas on right • Follow into Barbs HD on left 1.6 miles Stop: Barbs Harley Davidson (LUNCH) • Head south on NJ-168 S/Black Horse Pike toward Lake Ave - Merge onto I-295 N • Stay on I-295 N for approximately 25 miles -- Exit 57 onto US-130 N / Bordentown • Take Rt. 130 North 13 Miles towards Rt. 1 North • Take slight right on Rt. 33 Mercer Street (into Hightstown) • Stay straight onto N. Main Street Rt. 539 heading back to Rt. 130 • Bear right back onto Rt. 130 heading toward Rt. 1 North • TRAVEL 4.1 Miles and turn Right onto Forsgate Drive to 95 North • TRAVEL 16 Miles to EXIT 11 – heading to Rt. 9 North • TRAVEL Aprox 2.5 miles bear right onto Rt. 1 North • Merge onto US-1 N toward Newark (US-1/9 N) • Stay on US-1 N / US-1/9 N for approximately 4.6 miles Turn right into Applebees (Fuel before or after shopping center if you need to – bigger bikes can make it into and out of NYC without fueling) 2013 AMERICA’S 9/11 RIDE SATURDAY, AUGUST 17 Stop: Applebees - Home Depot Shopping Center, Linden, New Jersey Food Provided by AppleBees • Right out of Shopping Center onto US-1/9 N • Bear left onto US-1/9 EXPRESS LANES toward New York • Continue to follow signs for US-1/9 – PULASKI SKYWAY • US-1/9 N becomes NJ-139E, then 12th Street, then Boyle Plaza – keep following signs for HOLLAND TUNNEL • Travel through Holland Tunnel into New York City Could be altered ****** • Take Exit 1 toward Route 9A / West Street • Bear LEFT onto Laight Street • Turn RIGHT RT 9A S / West Street / West Side Highway • Proceed NORTH on West Street / West Side Highway • West Side Highway turns into 12th Street • • Turn Right onto 54th Street • Turn Right onto 7th Avenue • Sheraton Hotel will be on your left after crossing 53rd Street • Manhattan Hotel is on your Right at 52nd street. Double Tree is about 4 blocks down (please leave your bike with the others as we have security watching them about the Sheraton) • Look for people directing you to parking on side streets END: Sheraton New York Hotel, New York, New York 2013 AMERICA’S 9/11 RIDE SUNDAY AUGUST 18 START: Sheraton New York Hotel, New York, New York • Line up begins at 7:15am with departure at 8:00am • Turn right onto 50th street follow to 12 Ave • Turn Left onto 12 Ave • Turn Left on Warren Street • Turn Right onto West Broadway • Turn Left onto Barclay Street • Park on Barclay and Greenwich Departing: World Trade Center HEADING BACK TO HOTELS • Follow Barclay to West Street • Turn Right on West Street (9A) • Turn left onto 54th • Turn Right onto 7th Ave HEADING INTO NEW JERSEY *** NO TRAILERS • Follow Barclay to West Street • Turn Right on West Street (9A) • Turn Right onto Spring Street • Turn Right onto Varick Street • GO into Holland Tunnel (NO TRAILERS) HEADING INTO NEW JERSEY **** WITH TRAILERS • Follow Barclay to West Street • Turn Right on West Street (9A) • Turn Right onto 40th Street • Turn Right onto the Lincoln Tunnel • HEADING TO CT (NORTH) • Follow Barclay to West Street • Turn Right on West Street (9A) • Take exit 14 for I-95/George Washington Bridge o toward Cross Bronx Expy/W 178 St • Keep left at the fork to continue toward I-95 o Lower Level N/George Washington Bridge • Keep right at the fork, follow signs for Cross Bronx Expressway • Follow I-95 • .
