The approximately $4 million facility is one of the finest on the East Coast. The ECU Softball Stadium has a seating capacity of 1,000 with 200 purple chairback seats located directly behind home plate and 800 bleacher seats that stretch along each baseline. Right-center field features a state-of-the-art video board, allowing for in-game replays, and scoreboard. For fans who cannot attend every home game, a high-definition three-camera system is utilized for live streaming during events. Cameras are positioned behind home plate and down the first and third base lines. The surface behind home plate and in front of the dugouts is red Mondo track with a Field Turf strip running along the lines near the bases and giving way to natural grass throughout the outfield. Also part of the facility are three covered batting cages outside the right field fence that allow ECU to hit during all weather conditions. Both the home and visiting sides of the stadium have bullpens for teams to use with three mounds in each. The pitching rubbers are anchored in dirt, but Field Turf is the surface for the rest of the pen. Beyond the wall from left to left-center field are flags representing the six other American Athletic Conference softball institutions. On the outfield wall in left center are banners showcasing the Pirates’ championships and NCAA Regional appearances. For those covering Pirate softball, a press box rises behind the purple chairback seats. The press box is fully air conditioned and carpeted, has two radio booths (one for home and one for visitors), a television booth and a camera well. Amenities for those in attendance include a concession stand and ample restroom facilities.
