CUT THROAT CITY Synopsis When four boyhood friends return to New Orleans' Lower Ninth Ward after Hurricane Katrina, they find their home decimated and prospects for work swept away. Turning to a local gangster for employment, the crew is hired to pull off a daring casino heist, right in the heart of the city. But when the heist goes awry, the boys are forced on a dangerous crime spree, fighting for their survival while both hunted by the warlord and an idealistic lawman. Cuschieri has been a professional writer since November of 2002, when he sold his first screenplay, 5150, to Columbia Pictures. His follow to this success was a film written for Saturn Productions, THEY CAME FROM BISMARCK. In 2005, Mr. Cuschieri wrote a period piece about the rivalry between the great artists Michelangelo and Leonardo DaVinci. Having been initially optioned by Kevin Spacey’s TRIGGER STREET PRODUCTIONS with Anthony Hopkins set to star, the project is now being championed by producer Mark Ciardi, (MIRACLE, THE ROOKIE). Currently, Alan Taylor, (THOR; GAME OF THRONES), is attached to direct. Last year, writing the adaption of celebrated novelist Will Self’s story, A ROCK OF CRACK AS BIG AS THE RITZ, he also adapted another novel, BURNING FOR BURNING, based on the true story of Buffalo’s famed firehouse 13. This year, producer Kevin Walsh, (WAY, WAY BACK) is producing Mr. Cuschieri's GUERO with James McTiegue, (V FOR VENDETTA), attached to direct. He also recently finished the book adaptation, “That’s Why I’m Here” for Two Ton Films as well as “BLOOD BROTHERS” for director RZA. On the producing side, Mr. Cuschieri is attached to his script THE FATHER along with Lawrenze Tate. He is also working with producer Stuart Fenegan, (World of Warcraft), on a story PAUL G. CUSCHIERI about the origins of the drug ecstasy. Mr. Cuschieri is repped by Jon Levin at Creative Artists Agency and his legal counsel is David Krintzman of Morris, Yorn, Klein. The Weinstein Company purchased the feature in 2006 for four times the budget that it was made for. In 2012, Will produced The Devil’s Carnival directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (SAW 2-4.) The following year he produced The Curse of Downer’s Grove, written by Bret Easton Ellis, he followed with the films 37 and Midnight Sex Run. 2014 saw Will produce Submerged, the films Other People’s Children starring Chad Michael Murray, Life At These Speeds with Billy Crudup & Tim Roth, Threshold with Randy Wayne, & Rehearsal starring Bruce Greenwood, Dean Geyer, Deborah Kara Unger, & Rob Morrow. The start of 2016 he oversaw production on Kevin Smith’s TV series pilot, Hollyweed and was a producer on the film Fat Camp. He is also in development on the biopic McQueen, about legendary actor Steve McQueen. WILLIAM CLEVINGER To date, Will has produced over 30 projects spanning in film, PRODUCER television, and the web. He also oversees production for Lake Forest Entertainment and is a partner and the President of Production for film finance company Film Wealth, with producing partner Elliott Michael Smith. PRODUCERS Elliott Smith is an actor, producer, and entrepreneur. He began acting as a child in countless community theatre productions and later was professionally represented by ESI Network, Abrams Artist Agency, and Bobby Ball Entertainment. He became SAG for his role in "If I'd Known I Was a Genius," in a cameo role with Whoopi Goldberg, produced by Markus Redmond. Elliott also pursued a number of business ventures in asset management, multi-platform marketing, and sales while managing over 100 employees before he was twenty-three years old. He has invested in several start- up businesses as a silent investor and understands the necessity of integrity at all costs while driving profitability. Elliott continues to run his own businesses and investment portfolios while working on his true passion in the film industry as an actor and a producer. He is a self-made individual and understands the importance of risk management from his own experiences and education. In 2013 he Produced the horror comedy “Burying The Ex” Directed by genre legend Joe Dante and starring the late Anton Yelchin. He has since been an integral part of eight other films serving as Producer or Editor. Kyle’s latest Producing effort, “Mudbound”, directed by Dee Rees and starring Garrett Hedlund, Carey Mulligan, Jason Clarke, Jason Mitchell, Mary J Blige, and Jonathan Banks, premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival where it received rapturous reviews, and was purchased by Netflix to become the largest acquisition at the fest and the second largest in Sundance history. Kyle is also Co-Founder of the Grey Hawk Film Development Fund. KYLE TEKIELA PRODUCER EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS Steven C. Miller was born in Decatur, Ga. His love for film began early when his father bought him a VHS video camera. Miller started off small with multiple music videos and short films. In 2005 Miller attended and graduated Full Sail University. In 2005, immediately after graduating film school at Full Sail University, Steven moved from Florida to Hollywood where he and two close friends raised the money to fund his feature film debut. "Automaton Transfusion." The no-budget cult phenomenon (which Miller also wrote and edited) was shot in 9 days and had a budget of under 30k. In October 2007, "Automaton Transfusion" premiered at the "ScreamFest" horror festival at the Mann's Chinese Theater. It was purchased and distributed by Dimension films. Over the next several years, Steven was attached to several studio films including MGM's remake of "Motel Hell," Paramount Vantage's "Ink" and "Area 52" that never materialized into actual films. He learned the meaning of "development hell.” In 2011, Steven decided to return to his roots, work outside of the studio system and shot two independent low budget features: "Under The Bed" and "The Aggression Scale.” In October 2013 Miller finished his first action thriller "Submerged". STEVEN C MILLER The film was bought by IFC films and is being released in theaters Nov 27th 2015. In 2015, Emmitt/Furla Films and Grindstone Entertainment EXECUTIVE PRODUCER hired Miller to helm two Bruce Willis films back to back, Extraction and Marauders. He is currently directing Escape Plan 2 in Atlanta Georgia starring Sylvester Stallone. LINE PRODUCER Scott Putman graduated from U.C. Berkeley, went on to earn his MFA in theatre, and began working in production in the early 90’s. Mr. Putman has Produced Television, Commercials, Web content, and nearly 50 Feature Films, is bondable by all motion picture completion companies, is a Director’s Guild of America member Unit Production Manager, and has shot both domestically and internationally. Locations include Russia, Hungary, two films in Bulgaria, India, Israel, two films in Thailand, the Turks & Caicos, Puerto Rico, Mali, Niger, Libya, Egypt, Panama, the jungles of Guatemala, and the beautifully remote South Pacific. Mr. Putman was staff Line Producer for Mark Burnett on, “Survivor”, successfully delivering 3 seasons.
