The International Tourism Receipts were 1448 US$ Billion accounting for 7.6% growth over previous year. Tourism in India has become one of the biggest Service Industry, which is growing rapidly. The World Travel and Tourism Council has calculated that tourism generated 16.91 Rupees Lakh crore (US$ 240 Billion) or 9.2% of India’s GDP in 2018 and supported 42.673 million jobs contributing to 8.1% of total employment. The sector is predicted to grow at an annual rate of 6.9% to Rupees 32.05 lakh crore (US$ 460 billion) by 2028 (9.9% of GDP). Also, as per the recent report of Ministry of Tourism, Govt of India, the Number of Foreign Tourist Arrivals in India was 10.56 Million with an Annual Growth Rate of 5.2%. The Outbound Tourism movements has been 26.30 Million with an Annual Growth of Rate 9.8% . The Domestic Tourist Visits to all States/UTs was 1854.9 Million accounting for an Annual Growth Rate of 11.9%. The Estimated Foreign Exchange Earnings from Tourism in INR terms is Rs 1,94,892 Crore and in US$ terms US$ 28.585 Billion. The advertising campaign encouraged Singaporeans to smile more in preparation for the 61st Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund, World Bank Group and their 16,000 delegates. A mural was created to welcome the visitors. Singaporeans were encouraged to submit photographs of them smiling through an official website or by Multimedia Messaging Service.
