President‐in‐Residence Program July 2021 The President‐in‐Residence program was launched at the Harvard Graduate School of Education in 2001 as a way to anchor academic discussions in higher education with real‐world experience. The program brings a distinguished former college or university president to HGSE to attend classes alongside students, meet with students in one‐on‐one office hours, and advise students on important academic and career decisions. The program, now housed within HGSE’s Higher Education Concentration, is delighted to welcome Mary B. Marcy, the president emeritus of Dominican University of California, as President‐in‐ Residence for the 2021‐2022 academic year. Marcy was president of Dominican from 2011 to 2021, during which time the university gained national attention for a transformation rooted in creative programs, purposeful partnerships, and a commitment to academic excellence. Brian C. Rosenberg, former president of Macalaster College, will continue in the President‐in‐ Residence role for the 2021‐2022 academic year as well. Rosenberg, who first joined HGSE last year, will provide another invaluable source of mentorship and expertise for HGSE’s higher education students. Past presidents‐in‐residence include: James H.
