The Lipsky Graduate Application Fund Application Guidelines The Lipsky Graduate Application Fund encourages current Coe students to apply for admission to graduate programs in universities of distinction and encourages Coe faculty to foster achievement in graduate study for outstanding students. Approved Programs: The fund will pay for the cost of the application fee for up to three graduate schools. The Program of Study must be in a fully accredited and nationally recognized graduate school outside the state of Iowa. (See list of approved universities on reverse.) Professional schools are included for consideration under this fund. Requirements: The applicant must anticipate graduating at the end of the current academic year and enrolling in graduate school following graduation from Coe. The applicant must be endorsed and supported by a member of the Coe faculty who is familiar with the student’s interests, aptitudes, preparation and ability to succeed. Application Supplements: In addition to completing the form (see other side), the student must submit a photocopy of the graduate school application(s), including any personal statements or statements of purpose, that indicate name, program of study, application fee amount, and proof of payment. Students must also submit a letter of recommendation from a Coe faculty member who is familiar with their undergraduate work and can assess their potential in graduate school Student Responsibilities: If the application fee requests are approved, the student has the responsibility to inform the Provost’s Office of any graduate school acceptance(s). Upon making a decision to attend graduate school, the student must also notify the Provost’s Office of his/her selection. This will be reported to the Provost in accordance with the Lipsky endowment stipulations. Payment of Application Fees: If the application is approved by the Provost's Office, students will be reimbursed with proper payment verification. Procedure to Apply for Funds: 1. Complete the attached application form (Section I). 2. Receive recommendation letter and signature in sealed envelope from a faculty member supporting your application to graduate school. 3. Provide appropriate photocopies as stated above and attach to application form. 4. Submit form, photocopies of applications, and recommendation letter to Dr. Amber Shaw (Hickok 304-G). 5. Contact the Provost’s Office of your acceptance to graduate school(s) and of your final decision to attend. Deadline for Application Submission is January 19, 2018.
