EROSION CONTROL DEVICES SHOWN ON THIS PLAN MAY BE REMOVED WHEN APPROVED BY THE BUILDING STORM WATER POLLUTION CONTROL PLAN - STANDARD NOTES o Schedule road grading and hauling during dry periods. OFFICIAL IF THE GRADING OPERATION HAS PROGRESSED TO THE POINT WHERE THEY ARE NO LONGER REQUIRED. o Implement temporary cover erosion practices prior to the rainy season. This SWPCP Plan has been provided to address a local storm water requirements and supplement the SWPPP report, where applicable. 5. GRADED AREAS ADJACENT TO FILL SLOPES LOCATED AT THE SITE PERIMETER MUST DRAIN AWAY FROM THE EC-2, Preservation of Existing Vegetation TOP OF SLOPE AT THE CONCLUSION OF EACH WORKING DAY. ALL LOOSE SOILS AND DEBRIS THAT MAY CREATE Erosion and sediment controls are required to provide effective reduction or elimination of sediment related pollutants in stormwater o Existing vegetation shall be preserved to the maximum extent practicable. A POTENTIAL HAZARD TO OFF-SITE PROPERTY SHALL BE STABILIZED OR REMOVED FROM THE SITE ON A DAILY discharges and authorized non-stormwater discharges from the Site. Non-stormwater discharges consist of discharges, which do not BASIS. originate from precipitation events. Wherever possible, erosion and sediment control measures and applicable BMP's should be o Approximately 5% of the project area will be left undisturbed. implemented to reduce the potential for sediment related pollutants from being discharged from the site. o Minimize contractor access through communications to preserve existing vegetation outside of the road grading and lay-down 6. ALL SILT AND DEBRIS SHALL BE REMOVED FROM ALL DEVICES WITHIN 24 HOURS AFTER EACH RAINSTORM areas. AND BE DISPOSED OF PROPERLY. The following is a list of construction materials that will be used and activities that will be performed that will have the potential to contribute pollutants, other than sediment, to storm water runoff: EC-3, Hydraulic Mulch 7. A GUARD SHALL BE POSTED ON THE SITE WHENEVER THE DEPTH OF WATER IN ANY DEVICE EXCEEDS TWO o Vehicle fluids, including oil, grease, petroleum, and coolants o Use of non-paper based hydraulic mulch should be used for temporary cover of exposed soils prior to significant forecasted rain FEET. THE DEVICE SHALL BE DRAINED OR PUMPED DRY WITHIN 24 HOURS AFTER EACH RAINSTORM. PUMPING o Solvents, thinners events. AND DRAINING OF ALL BASINS AND DRAINAGE DEVICES MUST COMPLY WITH THE APPROPRIATE BMP FOR o Concrete curing compounds DEWATERING OPERATIONS. o Apply hydraulic mulches to stockpiles or other exposed soils adjacent to access roads for temporary cover. o Cement materials including underground structures and above ground structures o Allow 24 hours for drying prior to a forecasted rain event. o General Litter Base and sub-base materials 8. THE PLACEMENT OF ADDITIONAL DEVICES TO REDUCE EROSION DAMAGE AND CONTAIN POLLUTANTS o Paints Solvents and Thinners WITHIN THE SITE IS LEFT TO THE DISCRETION OF THE FIELD ENGINEER. ADDITIONAL DEVICES AS NEEDED EC-4, Hydro seeding SHALL BE INSTALLED TO RETAIN SEDIMENTS AND OTHER POLLUTANTS ON SITE. o Mortar Mix o BMP materials o Contractor should consult the local NRCS office for seed mixtures 9. DESILTING BASINS MAY NOT BE REMOVED OR MADE INOPERABLE BETWEEN OCTOBER 1 AND APRIL 15 OF THE o Treated Lumber o Apply hydro seeding prior to rainy season on final graded areas FOLLOWING YEAR WITHOUT THE APPROVAL OF THE BUILDING OFFICIAL. o PCC rubble o Hydro seeding should be used in conjunction with EC-3 for temporary cover o Landscape materials (Herbicides) o Additional applications may be necessary until adequate vegetation is established (70% coverage) 10. STORM WATER POLLUTION AND EROSION CONTROL DEVICES ARE TO BE MODIFIED, AS NEEDED, AS THE PROJECT PROGRESSES, THE DESIGN AND PLACEMENT OF THESE DEVICES IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE FIELD Construction activities that have the potential to contribute sediment to storm water discharges include: ENGINEER. PLANS REPRESENTING CHANGES MUST BE SUBMITTED FOR APPROVAL IF REQUESTED BY THE EC-5, Soil Binders BUILDING OFFICIAL. o Soil binders may be applied to any areas that will remain disturbed for more than two weeks. o Clear and grub operations o Grading operations o Soil binders shall be reapplied as needed. 11. EVERY EFFORT SHOULD BE MADE TO ELIMINATE THE DISCHARGE OF NON-STORM WATER FROM THE o Soil import operations o Apply soil binders for temporary wind erosion protection PROJECT SITES AT ALL TIMES. o Utility (overhead and underground operations) o Apply soil binders on access roads for wind erosion protection and erosion 12. ERODED SEDIMENTS AND OTHER POLLUTANTS MUST BE RETAINED ON-SITE AND MAY NOT BE o Landscaping o Use of soil binder material shall be selected by the contractor for particular applications and shall meet CASQA standards and TRANSPORTED FROM THE SITE VIA SHEET FLOW, SWALES, AREA DRAINS, NATURAL DRAINAGE COURSES, OR specifications. WIND. 1. EROSION CONTROL MEASURES EC-7, Geotextiles and Mats 13. STOCKPILES OF EARTH AND OTHER CONSTRUCTION RELATED MATERIALS MUST BE PROTECTED FROM o Erosion control blankets may be used to stabilize areas that will remain disturbed for more than two weeks. BEING TRANSPORTED FROM THE SITE BY THE FORCES OF WIND OR WATER. Erosion control, also referred to as soil stabilization, consists of source control measures that are designed to prevent soil particles from o Erosion control blankets may be used in areas of concentrated flow which has a velocity less than 6ft/s. detaching and becoming transported in stormwater runoff. Erosion control BMPs protect the soil surface by covering and/or binding 14. FUELS, OILS, SOLVENTS, AND OTHER TOXIC MATERIALS MUST BE STORED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THEIR soil particles. o Erosion control blankets may be used for areas around the Arizona Crossing LISTING AND ARE NOT TO CONTAMINATE THE SOILS AND SURFACE WATERS. ALL APPROVED STORAGE o Erosion control blankets will be repaired or replaced as needed. CONTAINERS ARE TO BE PROTECTED FROM THE WEATHER.
