
PILGRIMAGE TOUR TO EASTERN CANADA & NOVA SCOTIA (Chicago Segment June 20- June 28, 2017) Tour cost $1,895 (based on twin room) Escorted from Las Vegas by Father Gerry Grupczynski S.Chr. & Fr. Richard Philisposki S.Chr. from Halifax Day 1- Tuesday, June 20th Meet at Las Vegas McCarran Airport Terminal 3 International by 10:30 am at Westjet Airlines. Lv. Las Vegas 12:20 p.m. Ar. Toronto 7:37 (4:37 PT) Connecting Westjet flight 254 Lv. Toronto 9:30 pm and arriving Halifax at 12:37(8:47 PT). Bus transfer to Coastal Inn in Dartmouth. Day 2- Wednesday Light breakfast at hotel. We have morning free and then an afternoon city sightseeing tour of Halifax-Dartmouth. The citadel, historic properties, waterfront, St. Mary’s Basilica, Spring Garden Road, Titanic victims cemetery etc. In the early evening, we are transferred to the waterfront dock for a Harbor seafood dinner cruise aboard a paddle wheel steamer. We return for overnight to Coastal Inn . Day 3- Thursday. We leave early for a drive to Peggy’s Cove lighthouse and fishing village on the coast where we will have breakfast. We will then travel westward to the Annapolis Valley where we will visit the Grand Pre Memorial Church (Unesco World Heritage Site) where the Acadians were expelled from Nova Scotia by the British. They later became known as Cajuns (those that were relocated and stayed in Louisiana). We will stop for an tour and tasting at one of the many wineries in Annapolis Valley. Day 4-Friday. After breakfast we depart by coach for Cape Breton Island. We will pass through Truro, New Glasgow and Antigonish (see of the diocese of Antigonish) and stop a former Trappist and Augustinian Monastery in Monastery and pay visit to Our Lady of Grace Shrine. We will have a lunch stop after crossing into Cape Breton and stop for Mass at one of Father Rich’s churches- Sacred Heart in Johnstown. On the grounds of the church is found an outdoor shrine to Our Lady of Guadalupe. We continue along the Bras’Dor Lake (a saltwater inland sea) to Sydney to get our quarters in the Heatherstone Inn. We will continue with an excursion to Fortress Louisburg, once the military stronghold of New France. We have an opportunity to attend evening Mass at St. Mary’s Church in Sydney. Day 5- Saturday June 24 After breakfast we depart for an all day excursion around the Cabot Trail (described as once of the most scenic drives in North America.) . Along the way we stop to see the Alexander Graham Bell Museum in Baddeck. Bell choose to live and die here. We will have lunch (included) at L’Gabriel in Cheticamp (A French speaking Acadian town on Cape Breton ‘s west coast. Holy Mass will be celebrated in St. Pierre Church. We return via the Margaree Valley to Sydney. In the evening we will enjoy a Polish meal in the Polish Village |Hall. Day 6- Sunday. We are transferred to St. Mary’s Church where we will attend Mass at 8:30 a.m. and enjoy a brunch served by parishioners afterwards in the parish hall. We then depart back to the mainland and the Via Rail Station in Truro to board the “Ocean” train ( that operates from Halifax to Montreal) for a rail journey in coach accommodation. Dinner in the diner will be included as we travel through New Brunswick and later along the south shore of the St. Lawrence River. Day-7- Monday. We have an early arrival in Ste Foy (suburb of Quebec City) where a motor coach will take us to the famous Shrine of St. Anne de Beaupre for Mass and visiting the shrine grounds. Along the way back we stop at the Montmoremecy Falls and continue on to Quebec City for brief sightseeing and then board an afternoon train to Montreal. Upon arrival at Montreal Central Station we will take taxis to our nearby Hotel Lord Berri. We have the evening free for dinner or exploring on our won. Day 8- Tuesday/June 27 After breakfast at the hotel we go on a several hour sightseeing tour of Montreal that will take us to Norte Dame Basilica, Mount Royal and Mass at the famous St. Joseph Oratory Shrine where Brother St. Andre Besset lived, worked miracles and died. Our afternoon will be free. Overnight at the Lord Berri Hotel. Day 9- Wednesday/ June 28 We get wake up for our early transfer by coach to Pierre Trudeau Airport for flights back to Las Vegas or Chicago. Lv. Montreal 6:45 a.m. connecting in Toronto with nonstop flight to Las Vegas arriving at 11:34 a.m. Terminal 3. .
