Automotive Technology COURSE COURSE TITLE CREDITS Semester 1 Fall Introduction to Automotive Toyota/Lexus AT 101 4 Associate in Science Service Automotive Electrical AT 102 4 Fundamentals DIVISION OF AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY Advanced Electrical Systems and AT 208 5 The Toyota Technical Education Network (T-TEN) program Diagnosis is designed to provide the technical competence and CS 100 Computers and Technology 3 professionalism needed to become a dealership technician. The program involves academic as well as automotive credits: 16 lecture/ laboratory instruction focusing on Toyota/ Lexus Semester 2 Spring products. Students are also required to work at an AT 114 Automotive Brake Systems 4 approved dealership as part of the cooperative education Suspension, Steering, and phase of their training. The T-TEN Program is a AT 116 4 collaborative effort between MassBay Community College Handling and Toyota. The College has the academic and AT 120 Cooperative Education I 1 administrative responsibility for the program, which is certified by the ASE Education Foundation (ASEEF) in all EN 101 English Composition I 3 eight-performance areas. Math Elective 3/4 Students may also earn technical course credits from credits: 15 the University of Toyota/Lexus College. Semester 3 Summer AT 220 Cooperative Education I I 1 Upon completion, the Associate in Science Degree in Automotive Service Technology with a concentration in AT 113 Engine Diagnosis and Repair 5 Toyota (T-TEN) is awarded. Automotive Air Conditioning AT 212 4 & Climate Control ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Minimum eligibility for admission to this program includes: credits: 10 • Placement into EN 098 Fundamentals of Composition II or Semester 4 Fall completion of EN 090 Fundamentals of Composition I • MassBay placement into Intermediate Algebra MA 098 or AT 207 Engine Control Systems I 4 completion of Introductory Algebra MA 095 • Valid driver’s license (May be subject to dealership review of AT 209 Engine Control Systems II 4 driving record and drug testing). AT 230 Cooperative Education III 1 PROGRAM FOOTNOTES EN 102 English Composition II 3 Math Elective: CT 100 Critical Thinking 3 Any 3 or 4 credit 100 college level mathematics course or higher credits: 15 Humanities Electives: Art, Communication, English (EN 103 or higher), Film, Foreign Language, Semester 5 Spring Humanities, Literature, Music, Oral Communication. Philosophy, Manual Transmission and Photography, Sign Language, Theater Arts AT 219 4 Drive Systems Social Science Electives: Automatic Transmission: Anthropology, Economics, Geography, Government, History, Law, AT 205 4 Psychology, Sociology Fundamentals and Diagnosis AT 240 Graduation Requirements Cooperative Education IV 1 All assigned University of Toyota e-modules must be completed. Minimum of 650 hours of supervised co-op education. Humanities/Social Science Minimum of (2) ASE certifications (A1 – A8) 3 Elective Quantitative skills is a MassBay graduation competency for associate Social Science Elective 3 degree programs. Prior to graduation, students must demonstrate this competency by completing a 100-level math course (not MAC); or credits: 15 placing into a 200-level mathematics course.
