The Edwards Underground Water District, created by the State Legislature in 1959, is the manifestation of the region's commitment to protect and preserve this unique and precious resource. Since its creation, the Edwards Underground Water District has initiated much of the groundwater resource planning for the Edwards Aquifer region.
