CHORAL SERVICES Services are normally sung by King’s College Choir on Sundays and from Tuesdays to Saturdays. Services on Mondays are sung by King’s Voices, the College’s mixed voice choir. Exceptions are listed. ORGAN RECITALS Each Saturday during full term time there is an organ recital at 6.30 p.m. until 7.15 p.m. Admission is free, and there is a retiring collection. On 7 June, Prime Brass joins organists Tom Etheridge and Tom Winpenny. [ 2 ] HOLY WEEKAND EASTER SERVICES As Easter at King’s moves into its eleventh year, the essential foundation of the regular liturgies continues. This year will include performances of Bach St Matthew Passion, Szymanowski Stabat Mater, and Handel Israel in Egypt. The distinguished counter-tenor, Andreas Scholl, recently admitted as a member of the College’s 1441 Foundation, will be Artist- in-Residence. He will be singing in the Bach Passion, and will also give a solo recital. MUSIC On Sunday 15 June at 3.30 p.m., as part of an abbreviated Evensong, the Choir will give the first complete performance of lit by holy fire, a work written for King’s College by former Organ Scholar Francis Grier (KC 1973). At the Sung Eucharist on Easter Day and on Sunday 4 May, a string ensemble will accompany the Choir in Haydn and Mozart respectively. We are grateful once again to the Johnston family (Magnus and Guy are former choristers) who play regularly at Christmas and Easter, for being with us, and look forward to welcoming once more members of the Dante Quartet in May in connection with a concert they are giving in Hall on 4 May at 8.30 p.m.. The leader of the quartet is Krysia Osostowicz (KC 1977).
