News Item Monday, 25 August 2014 Proposed amendments to the OIV List of Vine Varieties and their Synonyms The Australian Grape and Wine Authority (AGWA) are proposing the following amendments to the OIV List of Vine Varieties and their Synonyms following an independent expert review. Proposed variety deletions were assessed to be invalid synonyms. As per Regulation 20(1) of the Australian Grape and Wine Authority Regulations 1981, grape varieties used in the description and presentation of an Australian wine must be recognised and documented on the OIV List. Comments on the proposed amendments can be directed to Steve Guy, General Manager, Regulatory Services – [email protected]. The comment period will remain open until Friday, 19 September 2014.
