SPONSOR GUIDE 2020 - 2021 ACADEMIC YEAR BRIDGER SOLAR TEAM at Montana State University we are making a college degree mean even more and it starts with you. a letter from the president Dear Prospective Sponsor, We founded the Bridger Solar Team in 2017 to provide motivated students the opportunity to accelerate their learning and gain invaluable experience in their field alongside students in other disciplines. We independently engineer, design, finance, and build a solar-powered vehi- cle to compete in the Formula Sun Grand Prix, a closed track Formula One style race in Topeka, KS. Our goal is to serve as a platform for students of all disciplines to think big and establish a pattern of excellence that will continue into their lives and careers. We strive to have a lasting positive impact on all of our members and partners. In just our first two years of operation, we have already seen members go on to attain internships at innova- tive and groundbreaking companies such as Quantum Design, Tesla, and SpaceX because of their hard work and experience with our team. The potential is clear, and we couldn’t be more excited moving forward as we begin work on our second-generation solar car. In 2021, we will be competing in our first Formula Sun Grand Prix against schools from around the nation. This project will only be made possible through strong partnerships nationwide and right here in the Gallatin Valley. Through this guide, we invite you to join our official team sponsors and support our mission of bringing world-class innovation to Montana State Univer- sity. Sincerely, Scott Smith, President Bridger Solar Team 3 who we are e are a team of Montana State University students who want more out W of our college education. Our educational disciplines range from marketing to engineering and film to technical writing. We each come to the team with a unique set of skills, life experiences, and per- spectives that give us an opportunity to learn how to work in teams to achieve a unified goal. We are self-directed and motivated by passion. Together we are building an environment for students to explore interests beyond the classroom and prepare for team-based careers after college. Our time in college is limited and how we choose to spend it is up to us.
