It is announced that a committee has been set up by Government to deal with cases of per• sonnel discharged oh medical grounds from His Majesty's Forces. The committee will consider the extent and nature of assistance necessary to cover the period from discharge to rehabilitation and will have discretionary power within limits to give financial assistance to the individual and/or his dependants. 2. The Committee consists of:— Chairman: Adviser on Social Welfare. Members: The Director of Medical Services or his representative. The Director, Department of Labour, or his representative. The Accountant General or his representative. Representatives of Jewish and Arab Communities who will be co-opted on the committee as requisite. 3. Government will be responsible, for approved periods, for the free maintenance and further treatment in Government hospitals and for free treatment at Government dispensaries, of per• sonnel discharged on medical grounds. Grants will be given for treatment in private institutions where Government services are not available. Pensioners will be subject to any regulations that may be imposed by the Ministry of Pensions. 4. Funds have been provided for the erection of a Government tuberculosis unit and a physio• therapy unit and the necessary works will be undertaken as soon as possible. 5. An annual subsidy to the Anti-Tuberculosis League has been approved. 6. Applications for assistance should be addressed to the Secretary, Government Committee, c/o Department of Social Welfare, P.O.B. 737, Jerusalem. In the case of Jewish ex-Service- men such applications should be forwarded through the Joint Committee for the Care of Jewish War Invalids, P.O.B. 1088, Jerusalem. NOTICE.
