Residents report 20 vehicle burglaries in one night BY NICK GUNTER Gulf Breeze News [email protected] This past weekend, the Gulf Breeze Police Department re- sponded to a number of calls about vehicle burglaries and three different car thefts – all of which were due to the vehicles being unlocked. Late Friday night and early Saturday morning, a total of 20 vehicles were burglarized in the blocks of Poinciana Drive and Silverthorn Road, resulting in the theft of many personal belong- ings, including three vehicles. Police explained that the incidents were the result of cars being left unlocked and keys being left inside the vehicles. Police Chief Robert Randle stated that all these burglaries could have been avoided. In fact, some residents heard some commotion going on outside but failed to inves- tigate.
