Our 471 student-athletes that participate in 18 varsity sports at Drexel are students first and their choice to participate enhances their collegiate experience. Drexel’s student-athletes graduate at a higher percentage than Drexel’s regular student-body. Their average cumulative GPA is an impressive 3.21 and 92% of our student-athletes participate in co-op. Our mission at Drexel athletics is to generate “Drexel Pride” through athletic excellence. We create a positive, winning environment and introduce athletics and exercise into the fabric of the University. The 2013-2014 season was a banner year for the Dragons. Five teams were ranked nationally in the top 20, including women’s field hockey, men’s and women’s squash, men’s lacrosse, and the men’s rowing varsity eight. At times, Drexel athletics took your breath away. — A triple overtime win against Alabama of the SEC at Madison Square Garden, giving the Dragons a third place finish at the NIT Season Tip-Off. — Winning the Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta team trophy for the second year in a row on the Message from the Schuylkill River. — Scoring three goals in 11.2 seconds to take the lead at Penn in the NCAA’s Men’s Director of Athletics Lacrosse Championships. The Dragons went on to win the game and earned a spot in the “Elite Eight” for the first time in school history. More students, faculty, professional staff and members visited the DAC — Watching an epic penalty kick shootout that (over 700,000) or supported the Drexel Athletics Club (over 1,500) went nine players deep, before men’s soccer last year than ever before. I think it is fair to say that our dynamic and finally emerged victorious, edging Delaware lively campus is enhanced by all of the activity and pride that has 7-6. With the win, the Dragons advanced to been generated by Drexel athletics. the CAA title against William & Mary, which they won and notched a ticket to the NCAA Thank you student-athletes, coaches, alumni, and supporters for a very Tournament for the second consecutive season.
