Dear All Would you like to do a Bible study on a few psalms through Lent and Holy week? From Shrove Tuesday, I thought it might be nice to look at the psalms for each of the Wednesdays in Lent and each day in Holy Week. I shall be using the book “Singing God's Psalms” by Fred R. Anderson, which gives a ‘hymnified’ version of the psalm which is in the Lectionary for each day, and suggests a tune for it, then gives a reflection on the psalm. I will then give a short reflection and/or series of questions for you to ponder, finishing with a prayer. I will be producing sheets and sending these out either via email or by dropping them by hand or by post all at once so that you can look at them in your own time. Each sheet is marked for the day when it should be done so you should have one for each of the following days: Shrove Tuesday Ash Wednesday 24th February 3rd March 10th March 17th March 24th March Palm Sunday Monday in Holy Week Tuesday in Holy Week Wednesday in Holy Week Maundy Thursday Good Friday Holy Saturday / Easter Eve Easter Day Obviously, if you cannot do these on the Wednesdays you can do them on a day that suits you – the only reason I chose Wednesdays is so that I could choose the psalm from the Lectionary. There will be no Zoom meetings or any other meetings, these are to study on your own, or with the people you live with, in your own time and at your own pace. There is no pressure to get anything back to me. If you would like to send me a comment that would be nice but not necessary. If you think this is for you, and can think of anyone else who may enjoy this little offering, then please let me know. Those I don’t have email addresses for, if you can either get these to me, or their home addresses, and I can send them out the sheets. “The more, the merrier.” Thank you in advance.
