To: Minor Hockey Presidents From: Mike Hammill Chair Minor Council Hockey PEI Date: June 20, 2013 Re: Adoption of Zoning Changes This is to advise Minor Hockey Associations of zoning changes that were recently approved by Hockey PEI. Two recommendations that were endorsed and supported by minor council were brought forward to the Hockey PEI Board of Directors for approval. The Female Focus Group recommended a change to Regulation 22.02 The AAA Male Zoning Committee recommended a change to Regulation 22.01 Below outlines the approved changes. Hockey PEI Regulation 22.02 Beginning for the 2013-2014 season, “AA” Female Zones will be as follows: Bantam and Midget “AA” Zone 1 Tignish, Alberton, O’Leary, Tyne Valley and Evangeline Zone 2 Summerside, Bedeque, South Side, North River, Kensington, and North Star Zone 3 Charlottetown, Sherwood and Pownal Zone 4 Souris, Georgetown, Morell, Montague, Belfast and Northumberland Note: Consideration of designated zones for Atom and Pee Wee divisions will be determined annually by Minor Council in consultation with the Minor Hockey Associations and the Female Focus Geographic Steering Committee.
