Kaydanetal.,2001a)sinceBodenheimer(1949,1952, Kozár(1998)recorded708speciesin115generainthe 1953a,1953b).Thesestudieshaveimprovedour Palaearcticregion.Studiesonthisfamilywerestartedby knowledgeofscaleinsects,buthavealsohighlightedthe Bodenheimer(1953a,1953b)whorecorded10 needformorefaunisticresearch. mealybugspeciesinTurkey.Afterthat,Çanakç›o¤lu 219 StudiesonPseudococcidae(Homoptera:Coccoidea)FaunaofAfyon,Ankara,BurdurandIspartaProvinces,Turkey (1977)recorded3speciesinforestryareas,Düzgünefl Bala,Ankara.Kaydanetal.(2001b)previouslyrecorded (1982)recorded13speciesindifferenthabitats,Kaydan thisspeciesonTaericum sp.atNevflehir(Ihlara). etal.(2001a)recorded19species,which16ofthem Palaearcticspecies.Occurringontheleavesandatthe wereanewrecordforTurkishfauna,andKaydanetal. basesofthestemsofherbaceouswoodyplants,most (2001b)alsorecorded4newrecords.Forty-two commoninCentralEuropeon Rubus sp.(Kosztaraband mealybugspecieshavebeenrecordedinTurkeytodate.
