To start the bushing First check the bore for dirt and burrs. The bore* must be clean and free from burrs. Start the spiral steel bushing into the bore by placing the bushing at the bore opening at a slight angle near the beginning 2010 NO-REAM PRODUCTS CROSS REFERENCE CATALOG of the bushing wrap or tip. With a push-in and a clockwise twisting action, the spiral bushing will start to enter the bore. Continue pushing the bushing in with a clockwise rotation as far as comfortable. QWIKkit™ PLUSkit™ ECONOkit™ LUBRAflex® BSP™ BSA™ The bushing conforms to the bore wall Use a slotted “T” handle wrench* to grip the bushing about 1” back from the tip. Twist the “T” handle wrench in a clockwise rotation, push the bushing in until the end of the wrench contacts the bore opening. The slotted “T” handle wrench is recommended for this operation (Service tool # ST-100). Tap bushing into position With the bushing within 1/8 inch of the bore surface, finish the installation by tapping the bushing into position. Starting at the heaviest part of the bushing away from the tip. Tap around the bushing until seated. To remove the bushing Near the tip of the bushing, pry up the wrap with a flat blade screwdriver. While the screwdriver holds the wrap up, grip it with a slotted “T” handle wrench and with a clockwise twist and pulling action the bushing will come out. *Note: the steering knuckle bore has been simulated for photographic purposes. The slotted “T” handle wrench service tool is recommended for ease of installation, or a pair of narrow square-nose pliers can be used to make the repair. an EnPro Industries company an EnPro Industries company 4641 INDUSTRIAL DRIVE | MILLINGTON, MICHIGAN 48746 STEERING KNUCKLE KING PIN KITS, SPRING PINS AND BUSHINGS TEL: 888.854.6474 | FAX: 888.871.4640 | WWW.STEMCOKAISER.COM TEL: 888.854.6474 | FAX: 888.871.4640 | WW W.STEMCOKAISER.COM CONTENTS ALPHABETICAL BY MAKE Page Page KING PIN SECTION KME ..................................................... 25 MACK .................................................. 25 ALLIANCE AXLE ..................................... 1 OSHKOSH........................................... 25-26 BROCKWAY............................................ 1 PIERCE ............................................... 26 CHEVROLET........................................... 1-2 PETERBILT ......................................... 26 CLARK..................................................... 2 STERLING........................................... 27 DODGE.................................................... 2-3 SUTPHEN FIRE CHASSIS.................. 27 EAGLE..................................................... 4 THOMAS ............................................. 27 EATON .................................................... 4 WESTERN STAR ................................ 27 FORD....................................................... 4-7 WHITE ................................................. 27 FREIGHTLINER ...................................... 7 VOLVO / GMC ..................................... 27 FWD......................................................... 7 GKN ......................................................... 7 SPRING RESEARCH INSTITUTE GMC ........................................................ 7-10 IDENTIFICATION ................................ 28 GMC COACH .......................................... 10 SPRING SERVICE TOOLS..................... 28 HENDRICKSON ...................................... 10 SPECIAL PIN APPLICATIONS HINO........................................................ 10 EAGLE................................................. 28 INTERNATIONAL / NAVISTAR ............... 10-13 ISUZU ...................................................... 13 SPECIAL BUSHING APPLICATIONS KENWORTH............................................ 13 BELL HOUSING .................................. 28 KGI........................................................... 13 Rear Spring MACK ...................................................... 13-14 BLUEBIRD........................................... 29 MAN......................................................... 14 FORD................................................... 29 MCI .......................................................... 14 HENDRICKSON .................................. 29 McNELIUS MTM...................................... 14 INTERNATIONAL / NAVISTAR ........... 29 NEW FLYER............................................ 14 MACK .................................................. 29 PETERBILT ............................................. 14 RIDEWELL .............................................. 15 INTERCHANGE SECTION ROCKWELL/MERITOR ........................... 15-16 SPICER/DANA/EATON .......................... 16-18 KING PIN INTERCHANGE...................... 30-42 STERLING............................................... 18 SPRING PIN INTERCHANGE................. 43 VOLVO .................................................... 18 COMPONENT PARTS SECTION WATSON/CHALIN................................... 19 KING PIN QWIK KIT .......................... 44-49 WHITE / WESTPORT.............................. 19 KAISER PLUS KIT ............................. 50-53 WORKHORSE......................................... 19 KAISER ECONO KIT .......................... 53-56 KING PIN DIMENSIONS INTERCHANGE 19 WAREHOUSE TERMS & LOCATION .... 57 VOCATIONAL SCHOOL BUS ................. 20-21 TECHNICAL SUPPORT.......................... 57 BLUEBIRD FRONT AXLE & SPRING THOMAS SUSPENSION SCHEMATICS....INSIDE BACK COVER FORD BUSHING INSTALLATION INTERNATIONAL / NAVISTAR INSTRUCTIONS ..................................BACK COVER TRANSIT BUSES .................................... 21-22 GILLIG WARRANTY: GMC COACH STEMCO Kaiser warrants the parts contained in STEMCO Kaiser MAN products to be free from defects in material and workmanship, under MCI normal use and maintenance for a period of one year.
