In this report, you will find demographic Compassion, and data as well as information about our school’s Lives to the Service performance and efforts to make progress. of Mankind” Lone Peak High School is committed to making continuous improvement with our ongoing partnership with our community. “Together, We Climb.” The Lone Peak Administration Lone Peak High School Report to Stakeholders 2017 School Community Council Report The School Community Council at Lone Peak High consists of parents, teachers, and our Principal to make decisions about the Utah Land Trust Program. The Alpine School District School Board approves the plans, which are implemented the following school year. Lone Peak was allocated $242,172 this year for our plan to increase student success through: • Reducing class size • Providing professional development for teachers • Enhancing student assistance center • Additional student advocates The programs funded by the Utah Land Trust are vital to the success of Lone Peak High School achieving the goal of student success, growth, and achievement. LPHS AP Exam Pass Rates Lone Peak High School offers honors and advanced placement opportunities in 24 Subjects, including art, English, foreign language, history, math, and science. Our pass rate continues to exceed the district, state, and national average. (see graph) For more information on courses offered, please visit our website at lphs.alpineschools.org. ACT & College Readiness “The ACT test is a curriculum and standards-based educational and career planning tool that assesses students’ academic readiness for college” (act.org). Lone Peak offers ACT Prep Classes. Students are invited to enroll in after-school sessions in English, Mathematics & Science, to take practice tests and learn how to maximize their test- taking abilities. Additionally, Lone Peak High School Sophomores are administered the ACT Plan Test, and all Juniors will be given the ACT in February, at no cost to the student. LPHS Composite ACT scores lead the District, State, and Country. (see graph) SAGE PROFICIENCY Student Assessment for Growth and Excellence SAGE is an adaptive computer based assessment system that was taken in the spring of 2017. This assessment measured students’ knowledge of Utah Core Standards. This assessment is part of UCAS (Utah’s Comprehensive Accountability System) to measure students’ progress through summative, interim and formative assessments and helps teachers design meaningful instruction. 2 Lone Peak High School Report to Stakeholders 2017 UTAH COLLEGE APPLICATION MONTH November was Utah College Application Month. At Lone Peak High School, we celebrate college as a 1 year Certification, 2 year Associate's or Technical Degree, or 4 year Bachelor's Degree or beyond in planning for post high school education. Many of our students completed their college applications with the assistance of college advisors, high school counselors, and parents from the community. During the month, teachers talked about and celebrated the colleges they attended. We have so many great choices in the state of Utah for students to attend college and find their pathway to making a difference in the world. 2018 Graduation Requirements Graduation & Scholarships Academic Support (Credits needed) 3.0 English Core (9,10,11) LPHS had a 94.4% graduation rate Student Assistance Center (SAC) 1.0 Applied/ADV Language Arts in 2017 (one of the highest in the Free Tutoring after school in room 137 district and state). In 2017 LPHS Monday-Thursday: Math 2.0 Mathematics Core Graduates earned over 9 Million Tuesday: English Wednesday: Science 1.0 Applied/ADV Mathematics Dollars in Scholarships. 2.0 Science Core Comprehensive Guidance 1.0 Applied/ADV Science Students and parents may schedule to see 2.5 Social Studies their counselors by calling the Counseling Center (801-610-8812). Students are .50 Government and Citizenship assigned by last name to their counselor. 1.5 Fine Arts Mr. Sears (A-Cap), Mrs. Hoyt (Car-Fl), Mr. 1.0 Career & Technical Education Walker (Fo-Hi), Mrs. Allan (Ho-Lu), Mrs. Nemelka (Ly-Pe), Mrs. Ross (Pf-Sta), and .50 Computer Technology Mr. Campbell (Ste-Z) .50 Financial Literacy .50 Health Credit Recovery Students may make up credit in classes 1.5 Physical Education failed by less than 10%.
