After a fantastic camp experience last year, we are very excited to be back on the beautiful Croatian coast once again for Summer 2020! Our inaugural camp filled to capacity and sold out both weeks in 2019. This year we hope to have another great turnout from across the Transatlantic Council. We are assembling a great staff and hope to put an even greater emphasis on the most popular waterfront courses from 2019. We look forward to welcoming you at Camp Avantura BSA 2020! Camp Director - Rodney Henk This summer, we have many new classes to offer, including Chemistry, Art, Personal Fitness, Fishing, and Fish and Wildlife Management. In addition to these new classes, we will also be introducing some new program selections. In our new full-week first year camper program (ACE), scouts will spend the week bonding with other scouts while working on many requirements towards the Scout, Tenderfoot, and 2nd class ranks. They will also be focusing on requirements for the Swimming and Wilderness Survival merit badges. This year, we are also offering a High Adventure program spanning over two full days in which Scouts will be participating in activities such as a High Ropes Course, ATV trek and more. The High Adventure program offers an opportunity to Scouts of all skill levels from a beginner to an advanced thrill seeker age 12 and above! Wednesday is our “free” beach day. Scouts have the day off from merit badge classes and have the opportunity to spend the day on the water swimming or participating in activities planned by our aquatics staff, attend activities on land, or have a Troop excursion day off camp property.
