Trinity School Sporting Successes 2019-2020 Year 7 How many fixtures did Year 7 participate in across the whole year? 2019-2020 was an extremely busy year for Year 7 sport. They competed in multiple sports against a number of schools across Kent and as a whole, were one of the most dedicated year groups. They were commited to training each week and attended many fixtures since throught the couple of terms we had in Boys Football: school. Their organisation and promptness in being ready was commendable and they had the highest levels of participation in sport of all the year groups. Below is an insight into each of the sports that Year 7 participated in more 7 Matches detail. Mixed Badminton: Boys Football: Year 7 formed both a boys’ and girls’ The Year 7 football team have had team for the local area tournament. The boys showed great resilience and teamwork in a tense match against Bennett Memorial School which they drew. It indicates huge potential for the boys in their future performances and very promising start for the duration of their time at Trinity. Everyone came away from the game delighted and excited about the potential of this squad. Trinity School Sporting Successes 2019-2020 Year 8 How many fixtures did Year 8 participate in across the whole year? This year has been a very busy one in terms of sport for Year 8. They competed in multiple sports against a number of schools across Kent and as a whole, were commited to training each week and attended countless fixtures Boys Football: since September. As a year group, they had the most variety in terms of sport and had good attendance across the board. Below is an insight into some of the sports that Year 8 participated in more detail. 2 Matches Boys Football: The Year 8 football team have only competed in two matches against local schools. Basketball: The boys exhibited great resilience and attitude throughout the two games and worked well as a team, remaining focused to the end of each match they played. The match of the season is the 6-5 win they had over Mascalls School. Last season, the boys won 1 Match their league, and their results this season secured their place for the final of the new league this year. They have not yet been able to play this match, as it was scheduled for May but they thoroughly deserve to Badminton: be there. 1 local tournament played Rugby: Handball: The Year 8 rugby team had little opportunity to show the schools in the area how good they are by only having the chance to play one match. The boys showed great resilience and teamwork in an exciting match against Bennett Memorial School where they won 4 matches 6-5. This indicates huge potential for the boys in their future performances and is a very promising start for the duration of their time at Trinity. Girls Futsal: The girls had a good season competing in three local tournaments. The team was formed of both Year 7 and Year 8 girls with a variety of knowledge and experience, as some of the girls have been playing for a number of years. At each tournament, the girls displayed great sportsmanship and improved even more as the tournaments progressed. The girls have worked together for 20 Matches the last two years, creating a close team, which reflects in their performances on the court. They showed exceptional commitment and dedication in training and developed their skills and game play. There is huge potential for the girls as they continue playing together at Trinity and we are excited to watch them develop as a netball team. Futsal Boys: Boys Handball: 1 area tournaments The Year 8 handball team have been one played of the most successful sports teams across all year groups. The boys competed in the area tournament against the schools in the local area. At the tournament, the boys played four games in which they scored 14 Futsal Girls: and only let one goal in. Their performance 5 area tournaments was outstanding and they breezed through played to the Kent School Games Finals. When the boys got to Medway Park, they played some excellent handball and demonstrated great teamwork to come 5th in the whole of Kent. To top off the boys’ success at the Rugby: tournament, they were awarded the Fair Play award, voted for by all the other schools at the tournament, for having the 1 Match best sportsmanship, conduct and playing within the rules. The boys have a lot of potential for future years to come. Trinity School Sporting Successes 2019-2020 Year 9 How many fixtures did Year 9 participate in across the whole year? Year 9 have had a great season this year at Trinity, playing at both local league level sport as well a county level. Year 9 as a whole have been a year group that put effort and energy into each match, attending numerous fixtures since September. Year 9, have had some of the stand out performances of the year and had high levels of participation across all sports. Below is an insight into each of the sports in which YearNetball 9 participated: in more detail. Boys Football: Netball: Basketball: The Year 9 and 10 girls had a great netball The Year 9 boys had a brilliant start to 3 Matches season. This was the first year they were their basketball season.
